It's true that this rig may be better suited for lakes with a preponderance of larger fish, and that in lakes with both small and big fish, it may be necessary to reload the rig more frequently to ensure that the bait is fresh and enticing. Using artificial corn with maggots can certainly be a powerful combination for attracting carp, even if some of the maggots are consumed by smaller fish.
