From what I've heard, I'd guess it's not the looking up that adds velocity to the throw but the extra time you are holding it. Throwables have a "charge up" which increases velocity the longer you hold them back for. I have done this with explosive lanterns and if you hold them for like 5 seconds you properly launch those things!

Yea you have to wait for the cross hair to tighten for a second so you can throw at full velocity. The bullseyes in base camp are really good for practice

The looking up thing doesn't actually do anything. Its traveling further solely because you are holding the button down longer. Also the entire throwing weapon meta is garbage. I hope they remove throwing knives and axes from the game.

Removing classes only ranged option means you need to remove ranged entirely(which I'm not entirely opposed to). Or you need to give them way more ways to deal with range. Gap closing, large innate projectile damage reduction, etc. But I'd be more than happy just removing all ranged in the game. Youre right. It's pretty lame.

@@TheCosmicAstro- The problem right now and even for some time into the past is people just fill their inventories with knives and axes and throw them at each other for the entire fight never risking to actually go in. Its an extremely stupid meta. Maybe we can give each class a small ranged ability on cooldown in addition to their current kits but not something that can be spammed infinitely. This is really a symptom of a bigger core issue with the game right now which is movement speed. The entire meta if running around half naked so you can literally never be caught is a problem itself. The entire mechanic needs to be looked at again.

you can't riposte a rapier or any daggers I believe
