    Look on 0 coefficient it's based on you and your sense every 10% u turn is 10% on screen. Let's say to edge of screen is 100% and you have a coefficient of 178 if u divide 178 by 10 to get 10% that's 17.8 so every 10% you turn mouse is 17.8% on screen (they don't match). Now your 100% screen divided by 17.8 is 5.6 so 56% of your mouse turn will put you at edge of screen the other 44% is out of screen. If u want to get use to your mouse and sense then put it at 0 and its all down to you to build that muscle memory. If you put every game on 0 then they should all feel same assuming your sense is same and in theory help you get used to your tools not a sense based on some math. I no its more math but hope it helps just think higher coefficient will make it feel higher sensitivity cos 10% mouse turn is 17.8% on screen.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the co-efficient setting in BFV is monitor distance *vertical* not horizontal. So, on the horizontal axis, 133% is actually 75% of a 16:9 screen but it is 100% of a 4:3 screen, this is the setting both older BF titles (3 and back) and CS (1 zoom sens) use. I think BF1 is the one game where it is monitor distance horizontal so 133% is indeed over the screen edge like this video shows (assuming a 16:9 aspect ratio). It doesn't matter whether it is horizontal or vertical if you will set it to 0% though, obviously.

  • @SilkOCE

  • @ON1C

    Hmmm, I have tried both 133% and 0%. I honestly preferred 133%. It felt more consistent to me. With 0%, I noticed that the more zoomed in I was, the slower my ADS was. This kind of annoyed me b/c my general sensitivity is already low. Adding the extra distance I need to move my mouse when zoomed in caused me to run out of mouse pad space constantly. So to compensate, I increased my general sensitivity. This solved my issues regarding running out of space on my mouse pad when zoomed in. However this solution created a new issue. My sens at 1x and low zooms became too high. I was having difficulty aiming. I thought that perhaps I just needed to adapt. So I gave it a week. I would have moments where my aim was spot on, but overall I felt inconsistent. And I think that was my problem with 0%. Sensitivity is inconsistent between zoom levels. When I went back to 133%, my aim became much more consistent almost instantly with my new higher general sensitivity. I was doing just as good/bad with high zoom scopes and low zoom scopes. I then lowered my general sensitivity and boom, my aim became godlike almost. I don't mean toot my own horn or anything but thats honestly how I felt. IMO 133% feels much much better. Of course, I have no scientific reasoning, simply anecdotal reasoning. Purely going off of what I felt.

  • @SilkOCE

    @SilkOCE

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yeah so I said in the video that lower sensitivities might not transfer to this setting as well. But honestly if one option feels better than the other, then there's no reason to care about the math or reasoning.

Is there anything wrong with running 0% coefficient which I believe bf4 was and uping the ads sensitivity. I’m on ps5 playing 2042. I seem to remember my bf4 settings had ads about 120% soporific I could still ads strafe someone at 10 yards

    Placebo effect in the works! 😀👍 Silk, your information is misleading. Refer to “Important Guide to Uniform Soldier Aiming” on BF4 forum and “Uniform Soldier Aiming ...on or off?” on BF1 forum. On the second topic go to page 2 and read TheNoobPolice’s comment who “helped test and develop the maths behind this when Dark Etheeral, DICE dev Julian Manolov and a few other contributers developed it during BF4 CTE”. At 1:45 your explanation is wrong. Here are some quotes I’ve saved two years ago about USA: “133% coefficient is the same as 75% monitor distance in 16:9, and means that movement to 75% between the crosshair and the edge of the monitor is matched between scopes and aims. It is coming from 4:3 indeed, where 133% coefficient is the same as 100% monitor distance.” “You may have thought "Hmm, if a coefficient of 1.33 corresponds to the width of a 4:3 screen, shouldn't I change it to match my widescreen's aspect ratio?" (example 178% for 16:9) The answer is no. It will probably feel funny.” “Since you are very rarely snapping to target right at the edge of your monitor, a 178% coefficient will likely make high zoom scopes feel too fast during the majority of your aiming relative to hipfire on a 16:9 screen.” “Having the coefficient setting at 0% matches the velocity of the mouse movement to the speed of images moving that are right underneath your crosshair at any zoom level. This looked fool-proof and simple on paper, but it became apparent as zoom increased with sniper scopes that they felt too slow. This was initially baffling, but we (developers) realised our brains don't give us a sensitivity sensation based on one part of the screen, rather an average across the screen, and this might be different for different people. “Some very smart people have created the USA formula, the default of 4/3 (133%) is there for a reason and we (developers) were all aware that most people are playing on 16:9 screen. What you choose as a coefficient is more a personal preference however, there is no right or wrong.” End of quotes. By the way I call this placebo because on all of your clips you use x1 zoom level where the difference between 0% coefficient and 133% is 0.1cm (if you use for example 30cm/360° hipfire). For 50cm/360° the difference will be 0.2cm. I was fooled by it too. Believe me I’ve used 0% UsA for years and it was a mistake. It slows down high zoom weapons too much. My advice: leave coefficient at 133% and tweak “soldier zoom sensitivity”. Especially for x1 zoom (ADS FoV on). Just experiment, start at 50% and slowly by 5% work your way up to 100%, then from 100% to 50% and you’ll narrow it down to the “best sensitivity”. You will be surprised how much more accurate and consistent you can be with lower values. You don’t really need ninja flicks for BFV. And even if you do just increase your hipfire sens.

  • @SilkOCE

    @SilkOCE

    3 жыл бұрын

    I appreciate the criticism and while this may support 133% being better than I gave it credit for, the very post you are referencing shows how arbitrary the value is. "So you must be wondering why the default coefficient is 1.33 First, because 1.33 seemed to work best, second, because that's what CS:GO used and compatability is awesome, and third, because when you times your vertical screen height by 1.33, you would get your horizontal screen width if you were using a 4:3 screen, which is the smallest aspect ration screen people use for games." While the clips I showed were all 1x zoom. I use the G43 often and it feels much better with 0%. And none of this changes that you are calibrating your sensitivity to be accurate at one specific range. It's a shortcut to better aim but all of what I said about the actual focal length scaling process holds true.

  • @TheZodh

    @TheZodh

    3 жыл бұрын

    >> the very post you are referencing shows how arbitrary the value is. Actually it’s not that simple. I’ll explain below... >> While the clips I showed were all 1x zoom. I use the G43 often and it feels much better with 0%. I’m sorry if I didn’t hear you mentioning that but then this footage of 1X is confusing. This simply means that you prefer a slower ads sens which can be achieved with soldier zoom sens (by the way it’s 77% for 3X scope and 74% for 6X scope with 133% coefficient to match your 0% coefficient and 100% szs). The difference is - it will not mess up other zoom levels (example below). It’s almost the same as saying “hey folks my secret is a lower ads sens”. >> you are calibrating your sensitivity to be accurate at one specific range. It's a shortcut to better aim but all of what I said about the actual focal length scaling process holds true. It's not more of a shortcut than changing soldier zoom sens to 77% (actually one less tab to navigate 😉). Key aspect of 133% is a “consistency between zoom levels”. With 0% every next zoom level will feel slower and slower (4X is exactly twice slower than 2X and so on) which is not consistent at all as it may seem on paper especially with higher zoom levels. Try BF1 10X or BF4 40X scopes. With 30cm/360° hipfire the difference between 0% coefficient and 133% for even 10X scope will be about 37cm (that’s almost the size of my mousepad) . So if you like slower sens and 0% UsA is exactly what it means because 1X is not even affected unless you turn off ads fov, then just lower soldier zoom sens and it will feel more consistent with every other zoom level. Silk, I respect you, I'm your long time sub, but c'mon man, you have 16.5k subs, please don't spread misinformation, topic is very big and exciting, do your research before posting 🧐 cheers!

  • @SilkOCE

    @SilkOCE

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@TheZodh it's not just the slower sens, you actually described the exact thing I like about 0% USA. "Key aspect of 133% is a “consistency between zoom levels”. With 0% every next zoom level will feel slower and slower (4X is exactly twice slower than 2X and so on) which is not consistent at all as it may seem on paper especially with higher zoom levels." The reason why you can judge distances properly with 0% is because the distance scales with the zoom. If you zoom in 2x, the target will be 2x further away on your screen, and will require 2x more mouse movement to flick to compared to before the zoom. If you make this a fair comparison and scale the distance between you and the target to counteract the zoom, then the mouse distances will be the same. This will also benefit tracking, since the perceived movement speed, size, and distance of the movement will scale with the zoom, and so will the sensitivity. So if the distance between you and the target scales with the zoom also, then a target will move the same speed across your screen, and require the exact same mouse movement. And there is no need for comments like "do your research before posting 🧐 cheers!" We can discuss this but there's no need to be condescending, especially when you're not fully understanding the mechanics that you're talking about.

After watching your video, I now know 0% finally gives me that visuo-motor alignment with hipfire that I've always wanted. I've noticed that only in BFs, my ADS sensitivity seemed to feel unusually low even with 1x optics and 100% soldier zoom, so I struggled at close range if I wasn't within hipfiring distance. I still don't know what 100% would do. With a bit of practice, I should be able to stop overshooting targets from being used to my old settings and quickly further improve my aim in BF4/BFV.

One question THO : why do u said that Zoom sens must be on 100%? cuz im used to 70% zoom sens ....... is that bad ? (i mean, is that better usin same sens?)

    But it doesnt improve my Aim at all, if i Zoom in now with a 4x Scope, then i cant flick nor hit anyone near me in close Combat, cause it is now sooooo slow. Hipfire and Scoped "flicking" also does not feel anything near the same, its just slower then on 133 or 178, i hate it, lol. Its much better on 178 tho, can now Quick Scope People across the Map now easily. Maybe i dont get the Point youre making, maybe thats the reason, idk.

    Can you explain why this doesnt work on controller? My aim is very acceptable on bf5 console ( you can check this account, i uplaod my highlights (or nooblights as i like to call) and im currently using 125% on zoom soldier, uniform aim is on, but the coeficient is at 140. All my sensitives but the plane is at 100%. Should i try this? I mean, only tunning the coefient to 0 using my current settings?

  • @SilkOCE

    It might work on controller, but on controller the analog input works differently from mouse I think? Like on controller, you hold an input for a certain amount of time, wheras on PC our aim always corresponds to the same distance. Could still be worth a try though, You never know until you try it. I didn't break out the math in this video but by changing the value to zero, a different equation is used because it would have broken the original one due to division by zero errors.

    @@SilkOCE IT FOCKING WORKED, SILK YOU'RE GOD Exagerations aside, it worked beautifully, but i had to change my 3 and 6x from 100% to 125% (as the soldier zoom value) cause i was way more confortable. But it so fucking precise, but you need to turn aim assist off, which for me, is not that big of deal, i play without since mw3, but in this game i was in need for the aim assist cause i couldn' fix my aim. Well, who would know that a simple number could make a big difference. Anyway, thank for the video, it helped a ton

    I've always played around half zoom sens to soldier sens on controller and have had better aim since turning on to 133%, but this is not something on controller that I think is very noticeable. If setting zoom to 100% is necessary, that's very impractical for high soldier sens on controller because that zoom sens will scale terribly and be too fast. Will try 0% USA on 48% zoom just to test.
