Ms. Christine, Everyone in the UK and the Commonwealth agree with your assertion : Prince Philip would have shut down his wayward, disrespectful grandson PH and his ill-chosen wife a long time ago. The late Queen would have supported Prince Philip 100%, because it would have been more difficult for her to do this herself as to 'protocals'. Look at what just happened in Nigeria -- the First Lady of Nigeria made it clear Meghan is not a good role model for Nigerian women and girls ! 🇨🇦

If you are refeering to his so called gaffs like on the Australian tour , china etc then 1) It so happened that the tribal chief came away laughing it was the reporter who decided it was a 'racist comment, Another repoerter saw and heard what was going on but decided not to say anything until after Prince Philip died. it turned out that they had met on a previous tour and had been talking about th history of the tribes and The comment was made by PP as tongue in Cheek. " The china gaffe was probably based on something Prince Philip had learned during his RN days and tours to Hong king. Apparently when the Hong Kong Chinese were coming 'west' to open restaurants and takeaways they were told not to stay too long or they'd get round eyes, hence Prince Philip making the opposite comment

Prince Phillip was a good example how one created own destiny. He had difficult upbringing, had to leave his home country, etc. Yet instead of complaining, he adapted himself and became a solid pillar for his wife and her country. Harry can learn a lot from his late grandfather. Instead of constantly whining and feeling entitled just because he is a spare!

Prince Philip was a true royal, his son Prince Edward reminds me of him. *waves* hi Neil =).

Do love your sense of humour and fun Neil and your chuckles are very catching 😂 Another great story. I’m sure Prince Philip missed his naval career and needed to escape the restrictions of royal life from time to time. The Queen Mother may have disapproved but he was her daughter’s soulmate ❤

What a life having an eagle eye on you constantly. No wonder Prince Philip played hooky occasionally. ♥️🇨🇦

Not appreciated when alive but now he is dead, ??? Well for me he always ticket off all the boxes. Britain was lucky to have Philip as the Queens consort.

The Thursday Club! What a fascinating story you have brought us today, and I'm sure Prince Philip probably guessed who "the mole" was. I do miss PP a lot, his gaffes were priceless, and a source of normality for the late Queen. Really great story, thank you Neil.

Neil I think you are looking just spiffy these days. Loving the lighter weight suit jackets in great blue colors; eyes are shing so bright blue; your cheeky disposition and giggles just make my day. And I love when you talk about your flask; jammy dodgers; and other British things that we don't have in America.

Thank you so much for this. I loved Prince Philip mainly because of his gaffes. Always as you say the perfect consort but his own man too. Greetings from S Africa.
