Nothing quite says retro nostalgia like surfing square waves off Monkey Island.

I love the CMS card :) It was very easy to program and the noise generator was really great. Budokan makes a good use of this card :) And was stereo :)

Favorite intro across the various cards. Not too great using a headset (R and L channels being so easy to decipher screw with it) but with stereo speakers it cant be beat.

lostbladder I’m using headphones right now, it doesn’t bother me at all. Then again, this is coming from someone who isn’t even old enough to have a job, but still loves this stuff.

Fine, I'll turn on the cans... The buildup is weird with the hum on the right side and the blips on the left. After that it's still quite noticeable, but sounds decent enough.

@@WR3ND Unfortunately, the computer speakers I had broke. Maybe I just had them too close together and I was too far away to notice anymore. Or the left and right channel on them didn't split properly, so the sound bled over into both somehow. They were pretty beat-up speakers. I vaguely remember making this comment, but I can not recall the experience itself.

@@lostbladder No worries. I'm largely in agreement with your earlier comment. On the TV (which I use as a display monitor and default sound), it sounds fine, but with headphones the start of the song especially sounds weird. I haven't tried it on the hi-fi surround yet though, so we'll see. Headphones especially though will isolate the sound much more per ear, so in a sense it isn't quite the same thing as environmental stereo which can help our minds position sounds in a sound stage by the delay, pitch variation, and of course loudness. Even the shapes of our ears affect this and our perceptions are tuned for it over time. But I digress. Sorry, it's just my way. Cheers, and hopefully you can get some speakers you're happy with regardless. 👍
