I thought this video was respectful to those who have passed on. You weren't stepping on graves or knocking over plants or saying vulgar or disrespectful things about the people laid to rest there when telling their stories. This video actually made me very emotional by the way you were explaining facts and stories. I think you did a nice job of being kind and respectful to those eternally resting. If they could all see you visiting their graves I'm sure it would mean a lot to them. 🙏🏻

The reality is that bodies are 3' below the surface in the casket, maybe 2' below in an urn. That said, the casket takes up the other 3'. So when they say 6' under, that includes the casket but if you dug a mere 36" you would hit the top of the casket. I think "stepping on graves" is a bit overblown having been to 100s of them as you simply do not know how the bodies are laid. Some are sideways, some are not even there, some have been misplaced or not documented correctly. But this is a cool find for sure.

I worked in a cemetery one summer and dug a grave every week. None were 6' deep. That's a myth. And it doesn't mean any sort of disrespect to stand on a gravesite. If it did, how would we mow the lawn? Now, standing on the stones themselves; that's probably in poor taste. I believe you respect the dead by how you live.

I had the honour to meet Jack Lemmon in London and talk to him for a couple of minutes, he was very kind, he signed me an autograph, he seemed a nervous man but very active, his voice was quite funny, I always admired him and there he was, in front of me answering my question and signing an autograph leaning against his knee for support of my notebook, even though he was quite old he was fit and kept good balance. RIP, master of comedy and even drama.

Looking at all those gravestones, you touched on the memory of a handful of people but I always think of all the other people nobody remembers. They were born, they were loved, they lived & had triumphs & failures… Now they’re gone & they’ve joined the scores of billions of men and women since the dawn of time who’ve gone before them, forgotten. Nothing last forever. Think of all the moments of heroism and villainy, love and survival lost in the river of time. All the songs and stories that were so important for their time and place which disappeared like soap bubble after a decade or ten.

I talked to Barbara about a year before her death and wondered why she hadn't marked Roy's grave. She told me when they moved to California from Hendersonville, Tn. she had instructed her management team at her building in Nashville, (The Orbison Building) to bring Roy back to Nashville and they'd be buried together. BUT she was adament about Roy being buried in Texas because she didn't want him to be remembered next to his first wife, Claudette. She was very jealous of Claudette. When she died, the boys just wanted their parents together, Wesley had no say in the situation.

Well, to be fair, Fawcett was really a television personality not a "movie" icon. The Oscars is for the movie industry. And they stick to those in that industry. Whether it was an actor, or someone behind the scenes, be it a director, camera person etc. If they included everyone in the "business" that passed in that portion of the show, the show would be time crunched. Unfortunate, as everyone should get their couple seconds, but its just not possible. What about a Lighting Tech who mostly did TV, should he be included in the Oscars thing also? Not being included in the Oscars portion, doesn't take anything away from her or her career. Shes still beloved, and remembered.

I managed 2 cemeteries for 10 years and believe this guy did an excellent job on this video, very respectful from his attitude to the tone and level of his voice. Its easy to get excited and raise your voice when surrounded by so much talent. As far as walking on graves, sometimes its just necessary (how do you think its kept so beautiful) graves are walked on and driven over by people and equipment all the time. The disrespect come in when people do things intentionally to mess with graves. It is polite to keep to the pathways as much as possible. Oh, and you don't actually own a cemetery plot you pay for right of use and maintenance. Its like a gated community for the dead, most cemeteries have rules if when you can visit and what and how you adorn a grave, everything from marker size, shape, color, placement, plants, flowers, how long decorations can be left. Some cemeteries let you do just about anything as long as it is contained to your plot and others don't allow for anything other than flat markers and no decorations past 2 weeks after burial. Its better than some countries where you only get 7 years then they remove the body and dump in a mass grave. Unless you want to fork over a ton of money. Not to mention just because there is a marker it doesn't mean the person's remains are there it may just be a memorial marker. One last note: PLEASE if you visit a cemetery or memorial garden and you see trash, pick it up, thanks.

We were there the week that Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died. The day we went to the cemetery, we were greeted at the gate by two large men in sunglasses and suits. They politely told us that we could not enter due to a private ceremony currently taking place. I was so disappointed. After some thought and some research, we realized that we were there during Farrah Fawcett’s funeral . We had no idea at the time. We knew she had passed, but had no idea where she was being buried or when.

I was out at Westwood Village back around 2000-2001 and I remember it being very quiet and empty, in that, I was the only person visiting at that time. I walked around the cemetery for about an hour or so, seeing the names of Burt Lancaster, Jim Backus, Walter Matthau, and many others. I saw Marilyn's grave site on the second level on an outdoor crypt and vocalist, Mel Torme's redish colored headstone and then actress, Eva Gabor's burial spot. Short story.... I remember looking down at Eva Gabor's marker and feeling like I was being stared at. I turned around and there was an older woman, sitting on a small bench, underneath a tree, as I recall, knitting or crocheting. She looked like Zsa Zsa to me, if not, then maybe some other relative of the Gabor's. She smiled and so did I, but not a word was said. I always wondered who she was, but I guess I'll never know. Anyhow, I liked the cemetery and plan to visit there again one day.

I don't get unmarked graves by estates of wealth. Both have living family who could easily set a marker if desired. From a middle class non-religious family where EVERYONE was cremated and scattered, and thus not visit-able, an unmarked grave seems kind of a useless waste of real estate.

GrammerAngel you’re grandpa was just as important as these celebrities. My grandfather was also a farmer and a really loving man who I wish I would have spent more time with him I could have learned so much that now I’m wondering about!😊

I come from a family of farmers. And ive grown up with strong Christian values that teach all about the unbreakable law involving seed, time, and harvest. So our family was doing what God intended man to do. Which was to be good stewards of the land. So its folks like them that deserve to be honored in death with a nice grave, bc it only exahlts the one who influenced their work and thats God. Man should always seek to exhalt his creator. And in return God blesses them for their works.

***** I wouldn't ever agree to being in a movie that has real skeletons. Not out of worry of a curse, but because I think that is extremely gruesome and, most of all, disrespectful to the humans that used to inhabit the flesh that hung off of them.

I heard that too even the director didn't know they were real the actress the mum didn't want to go into the pool because she couldn't swim well the director said he got in to show her it wasn't as deep as she thought it was he was in it with her with the skeletons afterwards he found out the props department put real skelettons in and he felt creeped out and said he would never have got in the pool or got the actress into the pool either if he had known.

Very respectful. Lovely setting. Feels more like a beautiful park, rather than a cemetery. A reminder, that we all have the same ending to our very different journey. Live, love and be kind to others, while we have the opportunity.
