Before you boost or cut it's worth running a frequency analyser on each tom just to be really sure where your fundamental note and your snap is located.

Thanks Izzy. People need to make more episodes with the channelstrip as it is a powerful too. It can however destroy a sound at the same time. Samples synthesized with some software are fine and dont need a strip, but as a guitarist, drummer, and bassist it is crucial. Not to mention this is also a piece of hardware. I like how you boosting.

Great tips, the only thing I would add is a cut around 200-250 hz. It really cleans and tightens them up. That was a game changer for me.

I'd put the LPF lower, and use less low end boost. Just with the highs up sounds good. I hadn't thought of creating attack in 2 spots w/ EQ, sounds great.
