I don't think I've ever seen a minor chord called a 1-4-8😂 Measure the notes on the scale not the notes on the keyboard, you'll save yourself a lot of hassle just by knowing chords/scales.

@@Rikkodiene I get that but a progression measure notes on scale. A 1 4 6 would be the 1st, 4th, then 6th note of the scale and you'd build your chord progression on that. A minor chord is literally a 1-3-5. I understand but he's counting total keys not the scale. There is no 8th note in a minor scale lol.

the person who made this video didn’t learn right. for one, its not a 1-4-8 minor chord code, its a 0-3-7 minor chord code. you don’t count the root note because its zero notes away from itself (unison). also chord codes relate to chord progressions but he wasn’t referring to a minor chord progression at all. he was simply stating how to build the minor chord in a DAW.

@@smxkingalonebeats2895 also, your meaning of 1-3-5 is representing the scale degrees within the scale, which is right. but 0-3-7 is right because it uses the root note or unison which is ZERO notes away from the root note, the major 3rd is THREE notes away from the root note, and the perfect fifth is SEVEN notes away from the root note.

Bright notes? What are you talking about. There’s a chord progression for every scale. Melodic Minor, Major, Harmonic Minor, Double Harmonic,Mixolydian , Lydian, all the scales.

@@URSO. Yes he did, I was confused on your terminology. He did a 1,4,8 in chromatic scale, which was very odd indeed. He was counting the semitones instead of the scale keys. But, you can have chords that are into in a scale in a chord progression, especially when it comes to extentions, where it doesn't really affect the tone of the chord.

Click bait that's not a chord progression you're just counting from the root and saying that it is because the notes of the chord land there and that's just cause of how you counted you actually just showed us one chord the real chord progression is minor 1 - minor 1, 3rd suspended down
