This makes sense if you are selling beef in bulk. Butchers did this all the time back in the day . The old German butchers would do it as a way to conserve meat and not lose money on cuts of beef that were undesirable or got old and didn’t sell, that’s why it’s called hamburger. They sold it for cheap, which is why ground beef became so popular. Poor people who couldn’t afford premium cuts could afford ground beef. This is similar to how Brisket became so popular, it was a tough piece of meat and undesirable. However immigrants, minorities, and the poor (especially farmers) could afford it and that’s why it’s popular among barbecue enthusiasts.

I like how none of the workers or employees say the word beef or cow. They keep saying meat and animals, almost like they have to. I want to know what animals make up this meat.

A cow is technically female cattle. From what I've seen, people in the cattle industry don't really call them cows unless they're like dairy cows.

🤣🤣🤣 hopefully not cow either... Hopefully its a steer.
This is why my family and I split a whole cow from our local farmer. We know exactly where it came from and what it ate. And it’s CHEAPER than the grocery store. Tastes so much better too.
That totally depends if the grocery store by you grinds their own. A lot of stores do and they use a combination of neck meat and trimmings from the cut up roasts and steaks.
As long as its still cow what's the problem? It's still cow, isn't it?

Fun fact since it's trimmings the cuts of meat found in pre-made hamburger are often better then just grinding a single cut yourself often containing rib and sirloin

Keep up the great work
The meat has to be blended until it passes the limit for mycotoxin, parasite and bacteria requirements.
Noticed how the interviewer said how many cows then he was corrected with "animals"
Oh wow who would’ve thunk that ground beef is just cow parts, wow this is truly revolutionary
Ill take the 1000 cow burger over bugs anyday 😂
Go to any local butcher shop in any city, town or village in the U.S.A and they grind their own beef, turkey and chicken. Pricing is on par with supermarkets. Support local businesses.
And this why you should buy from a butcher, or even Sam’s Club has their own butcher shop, the meat is from one or many 3 cows but never thousands
@thomasj1026
Ай бұрын
It doesn't make a difference. 😂 these are the problems of a rich and privileged first world country. Go elsewhere and hope you get good meat period
This is why ground beef tend to have more cases of food borne pathogens
If you care that much for some reason; ask for store ground. It's the scraps ground up from inside the butcher shop
Buying a grinder was the best purchase I've made, we make wild game burger meat tho...so good! Also the meat slicer because lunch meat from the store is gross too.
That’s why I like Costco ground beef, they use a mixture of Bull meat and trimmings for their ground beef
In the 70s the Beef slurry that used to be considered waste for animal food started to be recombined to add weight to the product. Chicken nuggets and fingers are the same thing. Farmers used to have respect for their customers. Factory butchery ended that.
Well...that is a fact I could have lived the rest of my life not knowing. The idea that a single burger is made up of hundreds if not thousands of cows is mind-blowing🤯 ... I imagine quality control is a lot harder on a scale this size.
If you don't want this then go to a local meat processor buy a veef from a feed yard and have it processed. You can have the meat cut to your specifications. But a big chest freezer and store it you can eat that beef for a year if you have it vacuum packed.
That’s why ground beef needs to be well done. Any other cut can be rare, medium rare, but ground beef Well Done.
> people explaining to me why my food is delicious and acting like I should be upset
That's why I love living in a small town a small town grocery store pick up a chuck roast and have them ground it for you
The key word here is contribute, your not killing hundreds of animals with one burger
That burger with 1000 cows sounds pretty tasty
The hamburger comes from what ever slaughter house that restaurant uses
My boy said 1000s of "animals". Not cows! 😂
not here in new zealand-butchers are local, and they have their own butcher in the supermarkets. i’m sure even in the US you’d be able to find a butcher. if not buy a cheaper cut and mince it yourself, it’s fun and easy.
Yes. All burger used to be from only one cow. Now instead of one magical animal we have to use multiple. It’s so insane.
Love the grey filter making the meat look completely rotten
Not mine. Lol. My hamburger comes from one cow. Each and every time. And I get it for $2.39/lb. Buy local ladies.
I worked at a meat facility where we did make hamburger and parts of this are true like the amount of cows however the meat is separated by grade of cow so there may only be 50-100 cows per grade and 2000lbs a bin. Imported meat is only used in low quality beef most of your premium and medium grade beef company’s use 100% American beef
I could've died without this knowledge for real
And obesity high blood pressure and cancers run rampant
@elyrienvalkyr8167

Uuuuuh... wat? Why? Just because it exists? Eating a burger suddenly kills you? I was under the impression that excess did all that. And you could get that excess from literally any food source.

Not from meat 🍖 but all the processed sugary crap we eat
It's always a bad idea to centralize. Otherwise, they aren't doing anything uniquely wrong. It's just that when bacteria does grow, it will hurt way more people and be impossible to track. Which is perfect for large companies.
Why would I care if my burger came from one cow or thousands? We aren't making a frickin single malt scotch whiskey here people 🤣
Best solution, don't buy prepackaged groundbeef from big box chain stores. Local grocers with butchers working instore gives you the freshest meats and no added preservatives.
Hundreds or thousands of cows contributed to my burger wow. I'm gonna enjoy every bite.
This is why it is important to buy local, that way you know where the meat is from. This is why i buy organic, or just 100 percent grass fed, some people don't care what they put in their bodies, regular mass produced meat has added hormones an antibiotics an or other chemicals in the meat.
Top Secret Tip!! You can also ask your grocery store butcher to ground any peice of meat you choose.
Go to a butchers shop, the small local ones probably buy one beast a week and it feeds the whole village
If u buy a pack of chicken legs, they come from different animals. Lol.

So we're upset that instead of being the scraps of one cow, it's the scraps of multiple cows?
I always thought multiple cows are used for ground beef, as long as its only one type of animal and i dont get a disease then its cool, but as soon as someone gets sick itll take so long to find the original source of contamination that itll be nearly impossible
This is one of the reasons why I’m a vegetarian
My Whole Foods sells fresh ground that day burger meat that was ground in my store, they’ve actually let my daughter watch through the window, the grinding process
Whats the difference betwen 1 cow and 1000 cows in a burger? Why does grinding your own mean better? You cant just say "they started grinding all of it at once" and expect that to mean anything

Yup 😂😂😂😂 thats the secret... i work in a beef processing plant and can say your definitely spot on... ohh wait actually it was a commenter calling your logic dumb
Um, is there a reason I'm supposed to care about this?
As long as it's not spoiled or tainted who cares how many cows it comes from as long as it's safe in the end!
Many processed meat like sausage, hot dogs, & deli meat are probably all mixed up too. I guess that's why they say don't eat processed meats. Grounding your own would be the safest route .
I was about to say it's a good reason to grind your own
When will vegans learn. This changes literally nothing for me. In fact. I think i want a burger😂
My God our greed and gluttony makes me sick I went vegetarian when I was younger because of it.. couldn't handle that either
Thank you for this reel.😮
You mean to say I won't know the sun sign of my burger?
I like the fact that the meat is made of many different animals
I like how he said "animals" and not cattle or livestock... makes you think that maybe there are other beasts ground up in that burger.
The hamburger I make at my market is ground fresh 😂but I only use upper 2/3rds of choice or prime .
Makes me love burgers even more because of diversity
I'm with him here, I do it myself.
Maybe in some parts of the world (america), but in here when u buy that meat theres locations of where meat is from etc.. yea there probably is all the shitmeat, but not from 1000's of animals. Its very strict in here the meat production 🇫🇮
Support regenerative farming, local butchers or make your own by grinding up Chuck.
Yeah, thats maybe so in USA, but in Europe we have much higher standards and inspections.
That’s why it tastes so good.
It would be disrespectful to waste the meat the animal gave its life to provide
And who doesn't know that exactly? I don't think that anyone thinks that ground beef is premium grounded ribeye steak
I haven't ate red meat in 4 years, best shape of my life and less health issues. People don't understand that humans weren't made to eat beef.

It depends on where you get it from a lot of these big supermarkets make their own ground beef in house. At least mine does.
The water I drink has molecules from all over the world and space and it’s billions of years old. I’m still alive 😂
If there's more than beef in it, it has to be labeled as such.
NO 💩!? Think I’m going to be sick. ITS WAAY SAFER to purchase the beef and then have the butcher ground it.
Dude I love that my burgers contain hundreds or thousands of cows in it. Thats badass lmao
