Stretch the applied patch several directions until the plastic backing splits. Peel it off. Or leave it as you say.

Thanks for the tip David. I didn't say it in the video but the reason I leave the cellophane on is because when it's removed I've had the patch leave a dark stain on the sidewall of some tires where you can see it. I've also had it stick to the inside of the tire. The cellophane prevents that as far as I can tell. I should have also said that handling the patch by the cellophane helps prevent touching the adhesive surface of the patch. If you touch the sticky side of the patch you might prevent it from sticking fully to the tube. Thanks again for the tip, appreciate it!
Came here just for that answer to the exact question to patch my pool.

Thanks for watching and letting me know, glad to hear the video was helpful, appreciate it!
Tbh Jim, I've scratched my head over those a few times until I figured it out. However, now tend to carry the Park Tool sef adhesive patches, not had any complaints so far. The thing I'm not sure of, is there a shelf life on self adhesive patches?

Thanks Graham. I think it's wrong that they don't explain all this stuff in the directions, that's why I made these 3 short videos. Thanks for sharing your experience with Park's Pre-Glued Super Patches amzn.to/3QURenb - great that they're working so well for you. When I visited Park Tool a little over a year ago, they said that those patches were one of their most popular items and I am pretty sure at that time that they said that the patches are designed to last for the lifetime of that tube.
