Oh my goodness 😱 this explains everything in the stories of Sodor.
I love the lore here, the lucky Lamp isn’t the one that’s so lucky after all. Good job Victor! Also, I really want to see more of the lamp after this; Specifically Proteus, doesn’t matter if he is a ghost or in physical form i just love his character. Keep it going Victor!
This is a really neat alternative take on the character of Proteus! It's sad that his luck ran out toward the end of the war, but at least he can now bring good fortune to others wherever he goes, and his friend Stanley will always remember him. I had always thought the lamp itself was the good luck charm, but it turns out the luck actually comes from the spirit of the engine who once owned it! It was a lot of fun seeing the Lucky Lamp's mystery get built up over time, but it's great to finally have the full story behind it.
It a shame about Kyle, but I think Stanley remembers and knows his friend and comrade is still looking out for him and I'm glad the lamp is still out there too. Nice work on Proteus's story, Vic. As well as a very sweet ending.
What a terrific episode Victor! This really ties up a lot of loose ends and helps to explain some other events too. I like the direction you took with handling Proteus, a very interesting direction indeed. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the rest of the mini-series.
I was honestly afraid you had written yourself into a hole with the Lucky Lamp Victor, but you did it! This story is incredible and it answers big questions while leaving a bit of mystery.
I am so glad to see we finally have a backstory of our dear Lucky Lamp. It really touched me of how it came to be and all, a very sad story indeed. But it's also great to see how it comes and goes in times of need. Makes clear sense now. I loved this episode so far, Victor and I look forward the one with Old Bailey.
Well, _this_ episode ended on a much happier note. 😁 Poor Kyle Proteus, though. I knew that little engine looked familiar... Glad to see that little incident with the diamonds is settled.

This story builds up so much
I really love how Proteus was weaved into this story as the spirt of the lamp. Another solid entry!
I love the fact that he has just a sense to go. Places amazing
So Kyle is the engine to first ever get the lamp huh interesting I also find interesting that this ties back into Josh(Diesel 10) crashing at the crossing in the episode “prototypes” It also shows a scene with Andreas and it was before he died with old Bailey It also shows Geoffrey encountering the lamp on the track in the episode “treasury” I’m wondering that in the episode “creature” Duncan crashes at a crossing and somehow he doesn’t remember the accident nor does his crew so maybe he got his memory wiped by the SCP foundation The next SCP is the Nartwin I’m interested to see how old Bailey and the nartwin either communicated or we’re friends

Well this really changes the swing of the Lore. Proteus was the legendary engine of the mountains and his lamp was magical it now in Victor tanzigs story he was an R.O.D. engine who is trapped in the lamp after he was killed and he was shining the spot of luck I got a hand it to you victor, you really know how to create a good story, excellent job
This will be interesting! I mean it was very important throughout most of Stories of Sodor. Not to spoil anything but that prologue hit hard, didn’t know the lamp had such a history.
Despite the "Insane science" this was a very heartwarming episode even though he no long exists physically Kyle is still willing to keep others from going out the way he did especially since he can no longer be seen or heard god bless his soul ✝️
This is one hell of an epic way to tell the lucky lamp’s true backstory! Poor old Kyle would be doing it tough tho, although it is an awesome concept
This was absolutely brilliant Victor 👍🏻 I was impressed with your alternate take on Proteus and that you were able to give The Lucky Lamp a backstory. Also, by giving Kyle a sixth sense fully explains why The Lamp has constantly been appearing all the time. It was nice seeing Andreas again (R.I.P) and the ending was very heart warming. Rest in Peace Corporal Kyle Proteus. Looking forward to the next SCP entry.
Damn this SCP series so far has been utterly thrilling to watch. I wonder what the next one will be. I also notice we're getting closer and closer to the 70s. Can't wait.
You have truly outdone yourself this time, Victor. You were able to combine the mystery of the Lucky Lamp, almost the entirety of Season 4, and create a phenomenal story about the tragic tale of Corperal Kyle Proteus. I mean, seriously, this story could be its own movie! Also, the lines "Make sure you stay that way." and "I will." brought a tear to my eye. EDIT: Am I the one who thinks the shot of Kyle inside of the lamp should've been the thumbnail?

So that's how the lorry that Joshua crashed into ended up on the crossing? Been wondering for the longest time why it was there after it broke down. But now, the nerve of that guy leaving it there on purpose. And cool to see the callback of when Geoffrey saw the Lamp on the line.
Dang!! Kyle popping out of the Lamp at the mention of his name was a total surprise!! Even when it was referred to again and the Lamp was picked up.
Even in the present, the Lucky Lamp and Proteus are still in action. Very lucky for Stanley. Glad for him and his old friend. But seriously, those rocks seriously need to stop falling on the line. The worst instance was with Skarloey just before he and Rusty learned about the Rotten Railway. It was too uncalled for, and that rock shouldn't have done that.
Wow! This just explains so much that we were mystified about throughout the series.
Didn't expect the lucky lamp to be tied up with all that other stuff. How you manage to come up with such labyrinthian story arcs is incredible, Victor.

It's fun to learn how the magic lamp helps the engines in ways big and small.
Can't believe that tree was in the way, and that Kyle had to be shot at! So I guess his Model 9 lamp was left spared (along with his spirit/ghost), and that's how the Lucky Lamp really came to be.
That was surprising. It explains how and why some of the previous experiences happened in some of the previous episodes like why the lucky lamp is so lucky and how it went from one place to another.
NOTE: My thoughts here will contain some spoilers so if you haven't watch the whole episode, please make sure that you do before commenting. Lucky Lamp time! This should be interesting. So what to note down. I'll guess I will start with the R.O.D engine, Corporal Kyle Proteus. So it's not exactly Proteus, like you said, but it's an interesting alternative take you've done here. I really like his character here of encourging Stanley, telling him that he can do this. His death though was sad at first but then started to get really interesting when it turn out that he was connected to the lamp in some mysterious way, that was pretty cool. Lovely to see more connections within the various episodes of Prototypes and Treasure, that gives some explaination of what happened to the lorry when it broke down on the rails and I like how you tried to savalage Treasure with the lore added with the McKinley's and the fact there's an actual treasure map that began at The Standing Stones, hopefully that is foreshadowing for things yet to come! I do also like the added backstory for Dr. Pierce and Agent Potter with Pierce having parents as jewellers and Potter having connections with the police, it nice to know more of that to understand how they're able to do it. I noticed that The Legend of King Godred was mentioned here again. I can presume that it's a big storyline arc that will happen in the rest of the episodes. It's very interesting. So back with Kyle in relation with the lamp is the fact that once someone says his name, he is let out of the lamp where he is seeable and can speak to others. Not only that, he also gained a sixth sense so whenever he needs to go, he'll disappear alongside the lamp to help others that needs his luck, like a Guardian Angel. That is very bittersweet to add with his character. The ending with Stanley and Kyle (and the lamp) was pretty nice. As for any feedback, it's the same as last week's video with the scenes of the humans where they're not talking and we have to imagine what they're saying before going to the next scene, it's quite awkward. Overall, love the extended lore with the lamp and Kyle's character here. It's a great alternative take of Proteus. Very sweet ending too. Great job!

holy That was such a bittersweet ending. Great episode though, I personally like it more then path of the dead.
Now we know the origin of the lucky lamp
We even learn about how King Godred's treasure is actually a bunch of South African diamonds from the Great Diamond Heist (and that the treasure itself was just a publicity stunt). And that they were near those Standing Stones. That was rather surprising.
That explains everything. If you ask me, Kyle should be remembered as a Saint. St. Corporal Kyle Proteus
This deserves to be on the actual scp website.
Kind of glad to know the Foundation didn’t hold onto the Lucky Lamp. It’s too useful to disappear. But how come it’s never reappeared since the whole Boulder incident? That must have happened after the Foundation grabbed the lamp, so why did Proteus decide to go underground? And also, if the Foundation pulled out in 1991 if Camp Culdee was really one of their facilities, why? Sodor must be rich full of SCP’s and yet they decided to bug out? That’s not their style. Even if something dangerous was on the island, it doesn’t make sense to completely pull out. They would stand and fight. Something unique must have happened on Sodor in that year.
Ohh I loved this. And I literally forgot Andreas died until Old Bailey brought something up.
Great episode Victor. I really liked the way that Kyle and Stanley got some closure at the end of the episode, very wholesome and heartwarming.
We finally get the backstory about the Lucky Lamp. Been waiting for this.
Damn shame that lamp didn't show up in time to save Andreas. Ah well, can't be everywhere at once I suppose...
The scp known as The Lucky Lamp is known as a good luck charm amongst the engines and people of sodor. The scp that accompanies the lamp known as Corporal Kyle Protious is a friendly and helpful spirit from the great war. That is as much as the foundation knows
Loved this episode it was good to see Bensons Backstory along with the lucky lamp
Well done again Victor, your work has just becoming better and better every year. Splendid job on this series and your other works as well.
One thing I do like about this series so far is that though we do get further clarification on certain mysterious of the series, there's still some ambiguity that allows us to question. Like who made the cave? Is it the sole cause of Non-Faceless vehicles? Or for this episode, who made the lamp? Was Proteus naturally lucky to begin with? Or was the lamp always the source of the lucky?
I always had this vague idea that Proteus was related to the lamp. And I like this version of him.
