It felt tense, passive aggressive, and uncomfortable to watch. And then Nick asking Matt to tell the audience that he is not angry, when he actually is, felt crazy. Like... I LOVE that matt is finally speaking up and calling them out 4:30 cause it’s obvious their dynamic is in a way that when matt is talking and someone tries to cut in, matt will just shut up cause there is no point in fighting it anymore cause nick and chris are not used to listening to matt. I hope they will consciously start paying attention to matt and practice listening to him. And it’s understandable that matt struggles with speaking or getting his thoughts out when he hasn’t had a chance to talk like nick or chris do, probably since childhood

As a mother who frequently watches your videos. NEVER have I ever felt more uncomfortable watching. Chris and Nick need to seriously look at their bullying behaviour towards Matt. Yes they are siblings but this went beyond simple banter. Matt was attacked for his character , for the way he spoke (or didn’t!), to the way he ‘sighed!’. He was constantly being interrupted. Nothing he said was met with any validation! I know Matt has suffered with mental health issues in the past and calling someone ‘negative!’, ‘miserable!’, ‘ mumbling!’ Is disgraceful! The more a person hears something, the more they believe it! Nick and Chris! You need to back off with this behaviour. I’m sure you wouldn’t want Matt to walk away. But he won’t put up with this forever.

THANK YOU, this one’s gonna need more likes so they can see it, and not in the way of like “y’all are getting called out” but more in like an introspective way and realizing that you need to start thinking that you wouldn’t simply treat or tell those things to a normal person or friend. Cut the camera if you need to and get it together, so much nonsense on this episode and honestly a little hard to watch and hear.

Its not just "awwww theyre being mean to himm" we have no idea whats happening behind the scenes, why those two were acting like that, why matt was being so defensive from the start, we dont know anything. So its not fair to put the blame on any of them because quite frankly just because we're looking through a window into their lives doesn't mean we're in the rooms they're in. I feel bad for matt but its not that big of a deal because they're family and they will work it out. Some people are making a thing out if a thing that probably isnt a thing 💀 siblings will get heated sometimes and thats ok. These aren't cute little boys they're grown men and i wish people would treat matt like a man with emotions, not a fragile little boy. He'll be fine and probably is now, they always talk shit over

If they're grown men and not little boys then they should practice creating a divide between what happens off record and what they decide to display of their interactions to the viewers. If you see the beginning of the video, Matt starts the video smiling until at 3:30 the conversation goes like this: Nick: "Today we are going to talk about the science of happiness" Matt: "Aaaww" *cheerful and with a genuine smile on his face* Nick : "And I am so eager to hear what Matt has to say about what we talk about today" Chris: "Me too. Negative Matt" Nick: "Negative Matt" From that moment on, you can literally see Matt's face completely change and take a deep breath at 3:41 because he realizes that they are ganging up to mess with him for being "Negative Matt". And at that moment Chris and Nick get even more annoying. They start calling him "Miserable Matt", "Mumble Matt", they get passive aggressive with the mockery and start saying stuff like: - "I'm super happy today. How about you Matt?" - "I would love Matt to answer this question first" - "I can't understand you Matt, all you do is mumble" (**This is particularly irritating because we can ALWAYS hear Matt perfectly thanks to the microphone. So this is not a "Matt" issue. This is a "Christopher and Nick" issue because they should be using their headphones. That's why people who do podcasts wear their headphones when they are recording an episode. To check the volume of their voices, hear each other better, etc**) - "You are an annoying piece of s*it. Stop being negative" They started this episode with uncalled for attacks towards Matt. They didn't even give him the chance to be negative on the pod, before they were already being aggressive towards him. So OF COURSE Matt is gonna get annoyed and be negative. Also, when Chris says that Matt was hurtful towards him, all Matt really said to him at 13:42 was literally "In order to be happy I just need Chris to get away from me", but he obviously was saying it because he was addressing how Chris was being so passive aggressive in that very moment. And after they "laughed it off", Matt said at 14:25 "Now I'll give my real answer" and gave his real response to the question I am not a Matt girl at all. But I thought their behavior on this podcast was way too unfair

The Nick and Chris ganging up on Matt to berate him for not talking, then to interrupt him or yell at him for talking too slow or being boring, then yelling at him for being “miserable” when he understandably gets fed up with them constantly picking on everything he does (seriously, what is the need to complain about how he’s sitting or breathing for god’s sake) is getting SO OLD. It obviously does both Matt, and when he said so Nick was just laughing and not taking it seriously. But even if it didn’t bother Matt, it’s just not enjoyable content. They should just cut it out of the video if they literally can’t stop shitting on Matt for an hour. Joking or making fun of each other once in a while is funny but EVERY podcast episode being 50% Nick and Chris telling Matt he’s sitting wrong, speaking wrong, boring, and then - shocker - in a bad mood after all that is really not enjoyable content.

The podcast started out fine and then Nick and Chris started with the “Today we’ll talk about happiness and I want to know what Negative Matt/ Miserable Matt has to say about that” and I could literally see Matt’s demeanor change because that annoyed him. Obviously he is sick of being publicly portrayed as negative, or not talkative enough or not loud enough (which has NEVER been an issue because we can clearly understand him. That’s what the microphone is for). And they kept pushing it with the “I’m very happy Matt, how about you?”, “I’d love Matt to answer this question first”. Even if it’s “jokingly”, when they team up to give Matt sh*t about his personality, to then give him sh*t for getting kinda annoyed at the jokes, it’s triggering to watch. The podcast got a lot better when they stopped that, but I almost just close the KZread tab at the beginning of the podcast. And It’s not about Matt. They could be doing that to anyone and it would still be cringy to watch. Pushing people’s buttons is not funny 🤷🏻‍♀️

LMAO yall are crazy. no hate but like this is the sibling experience. your siblings are going to piss you off sometimes. these three argue over the most unimportant petty things and that’s what all siblings do. you can see that by the middle of the pod they are getting along JUST fine because they have probably forgotten what they were even mad about. they have said time and time again that none of there arguments last for more than like an hour. maybe you don’t have siblings or just don’t have a relationship like this with anyone but i promise it’s not actually an issue to them. Siblings push each others buttons that’s what they do. just saying 😭 you guys don’t need to be there “problem solver” they have grown up together and im sure they can work out there problems if something really does bother them. they have also said if there’s a time when a video just isn’t feeling good and people are in a bad mood and just not feeling the video they will quit recording and do it another time. 🤷🏼‍♀️ they just keep it real. they are three 20 year old siblings living together, they are going to have little arguments

@@user-8535 I absolutely understand the siblings experience, I have two sisters and a brother. And we 100% mess with each other and annoy each other often, but I feel like knowing when to stop is also important. Otherwise we would be at each other’s throats constantly. You can literally tell in this episode that Matt has had enough. Even Nick realized half way through the podcast that they were getting way too annoying. Even if they talk it out off camera and are able to move past it, I wish they would either tone it down or cut those bits off of the video, because it gets sometimes so uncomfortable to watch, which is a shame because I like their content a lot. It just throws me off when they push it so far. It takes away from the experience in my opinion (and in the opinion of lots of other people, as I can tell by the comments)

  • @user-8535

@@LuckyPoolBall knowing when to stop is different for all siblings, it really depends on the relationship between each other. they are obviously very very close and i’m sure that if Matt really was truly upset he would have said something and they would have cut it out. they have said before that they really are just themselves on camera and that’s what makes it so easy to film so much. if they were constantly being fake and not being petty and bickering with each other in videos it would be so much harder for them to post as much as they do because them bickering is like 80% if there content. This video is just real life, fights happen, people piss each other off, if they cut this all out there content, it wouldn’t have the same feel, like we are there with them and it wouldn’t feel relatable. i’m honestly glad they don’t post picture perfect content and set unrealistic expectations that you are always going to get along. if stuff like this really bothers you that much, you don’t have to finish the video. you can simply turn off your phone or watch something else. people in these comments are too sensitive, especially about a relationship they aren’t even apart of. about half way through the pod the bickering dialed down a lot bc they moved past it that quickly. again not hating on you or anyone else who feels this way i’m just saying that if it impacts you so much, you really don’t have to finish watching. idk im just almost sure that if Matt or any of them saw comments like these they would laugh because of how serious the fans make there little disagreements

I commented before, but I watched again and feel there is more to say, and I want to be encouraging. There were some interesting points made about the topic. But again, it was difficult to listen. I think most of us expect a little sibling bantering. I, for one, like the “realness” of the videos. But what many of us are reacting to is that this went over the line of sibling bickering. Even if Matt said something hurtful off camera before the video, the adult thing to do is say something like, “Wow, that hurt me,” not to hit back, especially criticizing things that are just part of who Matt is. And you guys are now 20. I am actually old enough to be your grandfather, and I have been watching your videos because I am genuinely interested in how younger people feel and think about some of these topics. I’m curious to see where the world is heading. And I think these podcasts, especially, have lots of potential. I am also old enough to know that there is no such thing as black and white, good and bad when it comes to people. Everyone has good and bad qualities, and I find each of you likable in different ways. You seem to care about one another very deeply. But it’s an important lesson to learn about family and future relationships-love can never be taken for granted. Part of growing up is learning to be patient and treating the ones closest to you with the most respect of all, though often people treat them with LESS respect than others. And that leads to broken families and broken relationships. I think many of us are rooting for you, and we do not want to see that happen. It would be nice to even see this addressed and see some healing on camera, but it’s not going to happen by blaming everything on Matt. There’s plenty of blame to go around, and I say that as an older person who finds each of you likable. Don’t fake getting along either . . . Do the work and learn how to really love and treat one another with respect as adults. We like seeing the realness. Lots of hugs to each of you.

i’m not even a matt girl and i feel so bad for how much they interrupt him omfg. idc if they’re siblings if my siblings did this to me i would acc move out and do my own thing. i love all three of them so much but it’s so tiring just listen to them doing this when they can all just hear each other out and have more patience

i would actually love to listen to what matt has to say without them interrupting and actually gave him time to say his thoughts. all the screaming and all that it gets to a point where it’s not even funny anymore and it’s just annoying

after thinking about everything i just saw for a bit i wanted to come back and say it reminded me of emotional abuse i received while growing up. asking him questions they didnt even want answered just to sht all over him, and then blaming HIM for the mood being sour during a podcast that was supposed to be about "happiness?" it was nick and chris that ruined the mood for me. it was genuinely upsetting and i hope nick and chris watch this back and are embarrassed. i hope they apologize to him in private.

I think that if they can’t hear Matt they should wear the headphones. Then they can hear everyone and know what it’ll sound like when the ep comes out. This one was tough and I understand why a lot had a hard time finishing it. It felt so tense. My heart kinda hurt with it😔

honestly when Nick asked Matt to let the fans know that he's not seriously upsetting him and Matt still saying they were pissing him off was so real for both of them! like why would he lie about being annoyed by them when he really is but then again Nick wanting to clarify that is valid because literally fans think that nick and chris are causing Matt to be upset forever and that they hate him when in reality it's all a moment in time so people need to relax and realize that, like Matt can't even show his real feelings because fans either baby him or attack and be hateful towards his brothers and nick and chris can't say anything without worrying about how fans gonna make a big deal out of it
