Sarah and Roger visit Grand Marais on Lake Superior where Sarah visits the North House Folk School to learn about the 50′ schooner Hjørdis. Back in the studio, Roger works in acrylics to create an 18×24″ painting of the boat along the rocky shore demonstrating a technique that will quickly and easily achieve a pebbled and pitted look on the rocks, finishing the painting with the lighthouse and sloop in the background.

Excellent lesson! I do believe, tho, you got the two blues mixed up. Opaque-cerulean, transparent- ultramarine should be correct. By once again beautiful work!

On the tubes of my paints it says Ultramarine is transparent and Cerulean opaque. Seems to be the case on at least the paints I'm using.

Correct! At the 2 minute point the colors are labeled opaque and transparent. Ultramarine blue has “opaque” in bold letters underneath and cerulean has transparent written. Just thought I’d let you know! Thanks for the awesome lessons!!
