In my school. If it’s taken away our parents need to come in skl and go through a 4 HOUR MEETING EXPLAINING THE DANGERS OF HAVING A MOBILE PHONE IN SCHOOL!!

If I EVER acted that way at my old HR assistant receptionist job I would have been fired on the spot! Receptionists should not be acting that way. Totally unprofessional.

At the school I went to when I was about 13 years old they made you pay 15 dollars just to get your phone back. In hindsight that might honestly be illegal or against some kind of rules.

The Jack What bit really got to me because at my last school there was very few students so I was the only one with my name in the whole school, even though I don’t have a common name, at my new school there is another one with my name so when I first went to reception the lady was like Poppy what and looked at me like I was done and she was meant to know everybody and I was kind of embarrassed and scared so now I say my full name all the time

The fact that this is spot on for my school in England is concerning…

At my school if you got your phone confiscated you didn’t get it back until the following Monday, no matter what day of the week you got it confiscated on, and it had to be picked up by a parent…this was freakin high school, like 2012

Had a similar experience except my phone unlocks with my face I never use the pin and the office worker wouldn't let me hold the phone so it could scan. They got pissed at me and my mom had to come and retrieve the phone she had to leave work early and everything literally the stupidest shit ever. My name is literally on my lock screen and my school ID was in the back of the phone case it was clear.

You have to have a backup password or pin with biometric locks. So this is automatically not true based off that one fact alone.

my phone has face and fingerprint unlock methods but every few days or weeks it asks for my PIN

@@duck6100 You still have to use it when you have biometrics on. Every 15 unlocks your phone makes you use it, plus everytime you turn your power back on.

So accurate! I don't know what it is about receptionists. Almost every one I've ever met (not just school ones) have a chip on their shoulder.

At my school they (your counselor)put a sticky note with your name and school ID number, then give it back to you. Since counselors knew most of their students they knew if the name matched the student. Once the lunch teacher lost all the phones collected during lunch and I remember tons of kids waiting worryingly as I was on my way to pick up my phone.

Watching all these clips is like being right back at secondary 😭😭😂😂😂😂

And this is why I burst in to tears the first time I had to go pick up my phone from the office

At my school there was never this much security. I once needed to hand my smartwatch in at the beginning of an exam (I'd just forgotten to put it in my locker so gave it to them when I got to the exam room) and when I came back later to collect it from the office they just pointed in the direction of a desk that had a couple of phones and watches on it. Anyone could've claimed one of the phones was theirs and just taken it, there was no confirmation involved with the receptionists.

when i was in high school if you got your phone taken you had to wait till it was either a Tuesday or Thursday, then your parent/guardian had to be the one to pick it up, it could only be picked up after school was over, and you had to pay either $5 or $10 (i dont remember which) to get your OWN PHONE BACK?!?!?! yeah it was stupid but licking mine was never taken and turned into the office :)
