I love how the bf wasn't afraid to set the record straight about his relationship, especially with his elders. That table of people, without knowing, were being completely disrepectful to Dr Gu's gf. She is accomplished, lovely, and loving. She didn't deserve that cold medical shoulder. I"m glad he stuck up for her.

I agree with everthing, but he could have sat next to his girlfriend, instead of sitting where they insist he sits. Culture wise he was respecting the elders, and his boss, but he could have said I want to sit next to my girlfriend. He does speak-up more than other male leads though about who he likes, and for the most part establishes boundaries with the second female lead.

The others didn't know that they were being disrespectful, but these little actions show a great deal of who he loves and protects. It's not a show of dominance but respect, love, and loyalty.

@@angelabarbee6901 This is why I have never understood the whole "let's not make our relationship public yet" in these dramas. You can't blame anyone for believing you may be single if you don't make your relationship known. Not saying they need to make a public announcement to the world but when you are dating someone, you should at least make it known that you are in a committed relationship[ so people won't misunderstand and come on to your significant other or try to hook you up with someone else. It's one of those tropes I really dislike.

One of my favourite scenes in the drama Dr Gu straight up tells them that she is his girlfriend and that to stop gossiping about him and the other Dr who quite frankly has notions about being with him and he has absolutely no interest in her beyond being her work colleague they aren’t even friends outside of work. Dr Gu straight out sets them all in their place including his elders, he is very clear, well done, now go get your woman!!!❤❤

Her 5 minutes before "Yeah if I put enough pressure surely he will magically ask me to marry him". 5 minutes later. Him with Humble pie topped with "don't ever get confused about us again. Will NEVER happen."

I hate when the male leads have to have these talks to the rest of the "group" and the girl who likes them. Because the people around them, the ones the scheming girl was able to get on her side. They decide to help her and pressure him. Saying lovey dovey stuff to main- male leads love interest and really putting a wedge and issues between the main couple! That really irritates me. I know people are really grimey like that in real life and women especially can do brutal things but the company they keep, also add fuel to the fire

I can’t believe Dr Gao put her entire life on hold hoping that this man would just one day decide to marry her without him even dating her once from their childhood, through college, and now in the work place. For her he’s convenient and a shoe in but to him she was just someone he knows. Even after this she still tried to pursue, scheme, and force a relationship with him. Nuts!!!

And she keeps embarrassing herself more by sinking to even lower lows. The only thing missing was her drugging him and trying to force a marriage by pretending she slept with him and is now pregnant. However she does something crazy later on but he doesn’t fall for it.
