By the way, Mike is also a fantastic photographer, starting with his pics of Paul and the fledgling Beatles, and his more recent black and white photographs. He is also a lovely man, with that great Liverpudlian sense of humor. I was so lucky to meet him several times over the years. Dear dear man.

The song I can still remember started " I live in a basement flat, there's no room to swing a cat, but there's room, it's true , for what we want to do ..." Luckily I was too young to understand the words :-) ...

As you will know if you listen to the record, the lyric here is very different. I guess they were restricted to a three-minute time slot and therefore - maybe to obtain maximum impact - decided to jumble up the lines (including repeating the one about going into a "home") and to parody American gospel in the final verse. Scaffold = punks before their time

If they hadn't sung it so bloody slow, they could have sung all the lyrics in that same three minutes. Frankly, I think they must have had a bit of Medicinal Compound before the show, and just couldn't remember the words.

True! The lyrics didn't all make sense, ie the jokes did not work - so I tried another result that came up in google: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p2ukqqaoetXYqqQ.html, over 4 minutes long and all the jokes 'work'. This one has a great video though.
