Wow, Absolutely Wow! My hubby and I just watched your trek. Absolutely incredibly beautiful. No clouds, no storms, no fire. Never have seen any videos on this route. We hike and backpack around Colorado. Going to put this one on our list.

Hey thanks so much Vickie!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. This was one of the most beautiful trips I've been on. This is a route that I created and made up to be completely honest. We didn't have the time for the 70ish mile "Grand Sawtooth Loop" so I wanted to create a slightly shorter route that hit the majority of the main sites to see in the Sawtooths. This one definitely checks off those boxes and it was awesome. I made a whole series on this trip with individual videos for each day if you need more information about it. I'd love to get down to Colorado to tackle some 14'ers! Let me know if you have any questions on this route, and thanks for the sub!

I've been watching alot of KZread Vidoes due to hiking withdrawals. Hooked on yours & amazed at how many you have done. Helping me through until spring. Love the Sawtooths & I'll tackle this one in 2024. Thanks for sharing & I'm off to another Danny Adventure🌲

I withdrawing as well 😊🌲 Seriously thank you so much for watching as many videos as you have been. I appreciate every single view and comment! This was such a fun through-hike that we made up. It pretty much encompassed the entire grand loop except the western part of it. If you ever have any questions about it don't hesitate to ask. Thanks Charley!!

OMG!!! Complete and total sensory overload!!! Just breathtakingly amazing!!! The scenery and cinematography were mind blowing!!! I watched this video 3 times. The first time took over an hour because I paused it so many times to take in all the beauty!!! I remember the summary video you did last year before you posted your White Clouds trip and it was very good, but WOW, you really stepped up your game on this one. Your intro and outro were awesome!!! Loved the commentary in the beginning. Right out of one of those BBC nature specials with David Attenborough 😊. Your drone work was spectacular!!! The aerial l shot of the parked cars near the trailhead as you expanded outward to the sea of pine trees and the mountains in the backdrop was beyond breathtaking. We were speechless and just stared!!! My Mom and I watched it tonight and at first, she thought you had to drive 55 miles to get to the location, then she realized 55 miles was the distance you and your friends hiked!!! Those shots of you walking away from the camera, alongside of the camera, and towards the camera added so much to the video. It would have been great without those cuts but including them really added a professional touch. We both commented that all that additional walking must have added an extra 3 miles to your trip. It is amazing how you can figure out the camera angle and always manage to stay in frame. We were also so impressed that you were able to figure all of that out in the moment since you had never been there before and could not plan those shots ahead of time. Not to mention the scenery you chose as the backdrop. We had to pause the video to take in all the beauty. The mountains, the trees, and the lakes were spectacular!!! I can’t count the number of times we commented about the reflection of the scenery in the water. A few of those lakes looked like they were mirrors. It looked like your friends from the White Clouds adventure joined you!!! That must have been awesome!!! The sound quality was great as well. Hearing all the wildlife, sounds of nature, and the music really added to the experience. It was so enjoyable. We could not believe it was over so soon. My Mom and I could not believe the time went by so quickly. Very sorry to hear someone got injured on the trip! Hope they are doing well. We saw all 3 of you at the end, so hopefully everyone is doing great! We CANNOT wait to see the day-to-day breakdown with your commentary. We have so many comments, we do not know where to begin. As always, another outstanding adventure combined with breathtaking scenery and cinematography. All your videos are great, but you really out did yourself this time!!! And that is saying a lot, because each time you post a video, we say the same thing! 😊 Thank you for all your hard work and efforts, they really paid off!!! Be safe and stay well!

Holy smokes thank you thank you!! I cannot believe you watched it three times.. I really appreciate that!! Haha I appreciate the BBC comparison. The narration part in the intro was a little out of my comfort zone and new for me to do like that so I appreciate that. I was going for Morgan Freeman and March of the Penguins 🐧 I'll be completely honest I was surprised at how well the drone shots came out. I didn't even plan on sending it to the sky for the second shot in the video, but Bob was in line getting a coffee in Stanley so I figured why not? Also, at the time of that shot I got a notification that there was a manned fixed wing aircraft in the area so I descended to get out of the way which was why I was so close to the ground! That's funny that your mom though we had to drive 55 miles to the hiking spot.. unfortunately that was not the case and it was about ten hours of driving instead. Much shorter than Wyoming thankfully! We're still hoping to do that one someday as well. I'll be completely honest, I went into this trip with the intent to try to capture as many "walk-by" shots as I could.. that's what I call them at least. Some of the biggest hiking videos on KZread are all "walk-by" shots so I thought I'd give it a shot. It was A LOT more work. In the past I've done a lot more of the "walk-behind" shots and usually just follow the subject in front of me around. This one I wanted to be a little different, and I think I really like the quality of how it came out comparatively. Also, I purposely didn't add very much music this go-around. I wanted the footsteps, the stream crossings, and the nature sounds to be more present. Haha yes I'd be curious to see someone do the exact same route, but not film it to see what their mileage comes out to be. As far as the shot selections went I was definitely constantly scanning. I'm always looking for a sweet backdrop to set the camera up in front of. The lake reflections were beautiful! Yes sir. The same two friends from the White Clouds and the Spade Lake trip joined in again. It was awesome! Aha the injury story is pretty funny and incredible. I'll fill you in when I get the videos made! I may just start working on them today! I have another trip coming up in a couple of weeks so lots of content coming soon :) Thank you again regarding the awesome comments regarding this video! Again, I really wanted to kick my game up with this one so the fact that you guys noticed really means a lot. These comments are very motivating so thank you!! Hope you and your mom are doing well, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you next time! Cheers! Danny

@@DannyJSchaefer You are very welcome!!! Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great way to spend a Sunday evening!!! Morgan Freeman and all the penguins would be proud!!! Oh wow, it is great how things like that work out sometimes. That impromptu drone shot was a total winner!!! I just told my Mom that it took you 10 hours to get to the destination and she laughed and said she was a bit off!!! You absolutely nailed it. We both noticed those walk by shots and commented how nice they looked AND how much time you spent making them. Also, we noticed the distance you walked towards/away from the camera AND how far the camera was away from you in several shots. There was one shot when you were walking across the trail and the camera had to be 30-40 feet away. We both noticed that right away. We thought, who takes the time to do that! Your friends must have been like, “where did Danny go?” Oh, I am glad you mentioned the sound of the footsteps. I forgot to mention that in the previous comment. I couldn’t tell if that was the GoPro or if you were wearing a mic. That really added to the experience. It reminded me of the wave sounds when you and Lolly were at the beach a few videos ago. You crushed those scenic shots, especially since you have never been there and couldn’t plan anything out. I am not sure if KZread tracks this stat, but this will be your most paused video!!! Can’t wait to hear about the injury story! Glad it was funny and not serious!!!! You are very welcome!!! You absolutely kicked your game up a notch!!! It will be very noticeable to anyone who watches the video. And that is a big accomplishment, since each one of your videos is outstanding. We cannot wait to see the up coming videos and look forward to your next trip in a couple of weeks!!! We are doing great, hope you, Tessa, and Lolly are too!
