The Satanist Priest | Urbain Grandier

Today's video will be about the Satanist Priest Urbain Grandier. This case is especially disturbing as there is a handwritten pact with the devil which Urbain allegedly used to acquire his powers with sorcery and the black arts.

But from what I know of the catholic church and my study of the bible in my opinion the catholic church puts so much on there people that is not scripture when the true things is so simple is the belief that God sent his son who gave his life for our sins and God raised him from the dead and through Christ we now have a direct link to God it's he that forgives us not a man in a little room.

To answer your question: I believe the latter to be true. Also; I don’t think the nuns needed to be paid off, rather a simple hint that they could be tortured would have been enough to get most people that knew about the methods of church, to sign an actual pact with the devil himself just to escape such a inquisition style of fate. Berserk has a great depiction of the priests style of absolving sins.

I think he was just a womanizing priest, like any other person at that time there were a lot of people who could’ve done a lot of perverted things, especially those in the church well to this day and well people of power. The problem was that nun was so obsessed with him that yeah, she literally made these BS accusations against him, but also some say that most of it was kind of due to the fact that they were enemies of Urbain that literally saw him as an obstacle in order to have the walls removed

I truly believe that Grandier was an innocent man. His only mistake was writing a document that went against Cardinal Richelieu and the church's codes on celibacy within the priesthood. He believed that a priest should be allowed to marry. He also stood against Cardinal Richelieu and his plan of demolishing the fortified walls of loudon which protected the population. When Grandier was burnt the walls were demolished. As for his dealings with the ursuline nuns I find it strange that a Priest accused of bewitching them would be there to undertake the rite of exorcism.on his supposed victims. Hence I believe it was the medieval and the early 17th century's way of getting rid of troublesome Priests in continental Europe and especially France. ie accusations of heresy, witchcraft, sorcery and pacts with the devil result in burning at the stake.

As an atheist, I don't believe in supernatural things, so I think that everything was a set up. Also, the punishment given to Grandier makes me think that he really pissed of the church/cardinal, maybe doing things that would be seen like paganism/satanist (not doing sex with the nuns, though). In fact, there is a song about this: Grandier's Funeral Pyre by Elvenking. In the song, Grandier is depicted like an hero to "the rich, the poor and the sick", so I think he was a really good priest to the people, but not good in the church's point of view.

Nuns were not always nice ladies. We all know the horrors they put our children through until we pulled them out. My children only had 2 days of them. I gave them a piece of my mind and took my children away to be saved. Horrible.
