The Samurai ( Spy Swordsman) 1.13 Code of the Samurai

Spy Swordsman (Onmitsu Kenshi)
The opening arc is distinctly western-inspired, with much horseback riding and gun fighting. It portrays the native Ainu people sympathetically as they substitute for American Indians in the frontier-like Ezo (modern Hokkaidō). Fuyukichi Maki appears in several episodes as the Ainu rebel leader Kamokuin, while Bin Amatsu plays two minor roles. It was actually aired as the last season in the Australian run of the series, as it was less representative of the show as a whole.[1]
Shintarō has been ordered to investigate the resources of the Matsumae clan and write a report about them. The lord of Matsumae suspects that this will lead to the shogunate taking control of his fiefdom and sends his fanatically loyal but rightful retainer, Kiba Jinjūrō (played by Toshiyuki Katsuki), who vows to kill Shintarō. During his investigation, Shintarō struggles to help the downtrodden local Japanese villagers and the oppressed Ainu, and also fights local bandits and smugglers, often inadvertently aided by his just rival Kiba.

At one time Shintaro came to Melbourne , Australia. It was probably 1965, he gave a show sword fighting. He really was very good. At one time I made a few star - knives, and they did stick on trees when I threw them. I only made them from sheet- metal though. It was fun.

Domo arigato, for showing this. As a kid in the 60s, I (with everyone else) use to watch this show after school, on B@W tv. Yes. I am from Australia. We all use to play, pretending we were the Samurai, and Ninjas. We also use to watch Marine Boy, Space Ace, Tobar the 8 man, and all the other Japanese anime Cartoon series. I have spoken to Japanese people my age, and they had never heard of "The Samurai" show. We also use to watch the Phantom Agents too. Perhaps, when I look at my Mint, Low mileage 1963 Honda C92 Benly, or my restored 1971 Honda CB750......I think of the Japanese tv shows of the 1960s that I loved. I wish the younger Japanese people loved their older history....I would love to sell my beautiful vintage Classic Japanese motor cycles, to a rich Japanese executive, to display in his office or at home.;).

Perhaps morphing the actors to assume new roles and characters is better than hiring new ones for each season. The guy in the final duel here also portrays the Koga ninja master in season 3, up to the final season. Meanwhile, the guy who played imitation prince becomes the Koga Ninja master in season 2. They're pretty good with make ups and acting like totally different character every time. That's power.
