    Fuck, this is great! I've got *enough* early Bukem (from between late '91 to '96). Certain sounds I knew were samples, like the little vocal snippets and sound FX (because they've been used in tons of other tracks), but I thought he'd done some of the synth and pad stuff himself on tracks like Demon's Theme and 19.5. Then again, apart from the Basement crew (Ron Wells etc.), not many were programming their own synths in the early days! The 90's Akai and Emu samplers made Jungle and DnB possible! Just like hiphop, pulling disparate parts of tracks together to make a new whole. He must've paid a fortune in sample clearance fees when they all got officially released!

  • @breakfreak3181

    @breakfreak3181

    Жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure why I thought Bukem did his own synths, when even back then I knew that most other hardcore / Jungle producers didn't. Probably because I didn't know the original tracks Bukem sampled from, whereas other tracks like SL2's 'DJ's Take Control' I knew all the original tracks!
