You have got to do it more often to get the hang of it and get more confidence I think. The first time I used a paddock stand was with a Yamaha MT-01. It might have scared me in the beginning but then it was a piece of cake with this and the other motorcycles although they were all lighter than the MT-01 (wet weight 265kg). And I did it with no help each day after coming from work. It helps confidence if you leave the kick stand out. This is how I did it With the side stand out I put the paddock stand in place with the left hook (kick stand side) already in place. I am positioned on the left side of the bike putting pressure on the paddock stand. Then slowly pushing the bike in the upright position by putting more pressure on the paddock stand while positioning the second hook. when it is in position the bike is in the fully upright position. If you keep pressure on the paddock stand it won't fall over. Then push the paddock stand down and the bike will be lifted until the paddock stand is secure on the ground. Getting the bike of the paddock stand, make sure the side stand is out. Lower the paddock stand by pulling/lifting it and lower the bike until the back wheel is on the ground but the bike is still upright. Position yourself on the left side of the bike while keeping pressure on the paddock stand and the bike upright. If you haven't put the side stand out this is the time to do it. Then slowly decrease pressure on the paddock stand making sure the bike starts leaning to the left. When the bike is securely on it's side stand you can remove the paddock stand. If you get the hang of it will be a breeze. And yes it is a little easier with the hooks (and mandatory bobbins) then with the blocks. I now use a central stand with a lifting mechanism. This is much harder (imo). You have to put the bike in the upright position. Side stand in (I have no center stand). Then position the 2 pins on the central stand into 2 specific holes on the left side of the bike. Therefore you have to lift the central stand (19kgs) a couple of centimeters (5-10cm) with one hand while keeping the bike upright with the other hand. When the pins are in the holes then you can lean the bike to the left it is then secure. Then by pushing down a large lever on the central stand the bike is lifted and upright. By pushing the large lever further the bike gets lifted from the ground in different heights so your tires are of the ground. I have used it on a Ducati 1098 streetfighter and a Yamaha MT-10 and am still using it on my Honda CBR1100XX Superblackbird. Especially centering the pins in the holes on the bike while lifting the central stand is somewhat difficult. To use the Central stand you need a bike specific plate with pins which are bolted to the stand. Thanks for your excellent videos.

I hated putting my zzr on the paddock stand. So I ended putting a center stand on it. So much better.

I appreciate this video . Attempted this by myself the other day on my ZZR14 and almost dropped it twice . Ended up going in house and getting my son to help.

Great stuff. Must confess i stuggled to put larger bikes on the centre stand in the past. ( appreciate it was not a paddock stand). Lovely bikes.

Please have a look at an abba stand, got one for my zH2, wondered why the hell i didn't do it years ago, absolute game changer, so easy, and keeps the wheels completely clear for any maintenance etc you need to do.

New subscriber here, so a bit late to the party! To get my bike off the rear paddock stand (the scariest part in my opinion), I lift the stand up slightly at the rear & slide an old fence post under it. I then sit astride the bike & gently rock it forwards. Works every time 👍

Was the biggest waste of money that I spent. Put my zx14 on it once and put the stand into the garbage. I ended up with the ABBA superbike stand with the front tire lift bars. For a big bike this is an amazing stand. Can lift the bike (both wheels in the air if you want) by yourself with ease It isn't scary at all unlike the these terrible stands.

First thing I did when I bought my ZZR was fit a Kawasaki main stand. Not too hard to fit and makes things so much easier. I just use paddock stand on front when needed.

From a fellow ZH2 owner you need some bobbins for the hook stand, but agreed always need to be very cautious my Mrs won't help me ever so over the years got use to my own technique, so far never had an issue, I line up the first hook then slide the other round while balancing the bike against me, practice makes perfect ;-)

I have a Hyosung Bobber and centre stands are no good down to the fact my exhaust is level with the swing arm. I use a Hydraulic lift it slides under the bike and you strap it down and it functions like a carjack.

Shame you never covered the front paddock stand as that's the one that frightened me most.
