The Safest Way To Deep Clean Your Engine Bay - BMW E34 Touring Baby
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Is cleaning an engine bay with water completely safe, YES. Is cleaning it with steam even safer? NOT REALLY. However if you have seals that leaking or poorly done electronics it may just be! In this video we steam clean the engine bay of the BMW E34 Touring. This engine needed a thorough clean and some UV protectant to really look great. Extremely impressed with how this engine looks after so many years, all it needs is an engine cover replacement and we'll be 100! Thank you all for watching!

I see other channels with followings that want them to do stuff they don’t even like to stay relevant and that is so bunk😭. Love you bro!
I'm completely at a loss as to how good these videos are. From the cinematography to the soundtracks. Even without uttering a word, you have the audience totally engrossed. Genuinely cannot wait for future videos. Do you have a music playlist somewhere that your fans can subscribe to? PS My dad had the RHD version of this car when I was growing up (in London). Fun and relaxing film alright! A couple key tools are definitely the soft long bristle brush and the steamer. I bought a used Ladybug steamer a couple years ago. It doesn’t blast pressure quite enough. But for nooks and crannies it’s awesome. A couple tricks I’ve picked up-1.take that entire hood sealing gasket off all the way around the sides and clean the inner groove with brakekleen and a rag well, followed up with a good 303 soaking. Then too you can access the outer edges so well.. 2. A long paint stirring stick and microfiber around the end enable you to really get deep down in there between hoses, tubing, wires and etc. Steam out those areas after working it all..I often just put brakekleen on the rag in greasy areas. Or mineral spirits. Even Mother’s polish on it for painted areas that need freshening. Again- nice work!
And the music tho . . . So relaxing to watch 😍

I get it, it's not your content style but really would have liked to see some sort of explanation on how the battery, alternator, etc react with water and how to avoid damaging anything. Looking to do this on my car and everywhere I look people have a different opinion and was hoping for a straight answer I unfortunately didn't get. Oh well
@ChromaticGarage
3 жыл бұрын
There is no real answer. If water is going to negatively effect your engine you have bigger problems than an engine bay detail. You clearly know to cover the alternator and battery if it’s exposed. That’s all there really is to know🤷♂️
If you don’t have a steamer what’s a different alternative? Just a apc a brush and light mist of water?
