I immediately understood what was happening in “the hotline” when the unknown ID responded more “giddy”. They had a depressive episode and overdosed on medicine/drugs, causing them to slowly phase in and out of consciousness. When you’re high/tired, you tend to become more honest without meaning to be as well. They say “you’re going to ask for help? Yeah that would be a good idea” indicates that despite their suicidal thoughts, they still wanted help. The “abcde” part made me almost cry. It reminded me of a child telling random facts to people when on their death bed. “I think A must be lonely.” was a clear sign that their problems were rooted in feeling alone and left behind in the world, and they slowly spiral with each message they continue to send, anger and despair getting a hold of them with each message they type. Eventually they reach a breaking point and grabs for their gun(which is why they didn’t answer at the end), but before offing themself, something compelled them to pick up the player’s phone call. The silence before the gunshot shows that they hesitated before doing it because maybe, just maybe, if the player cared enough to call, they might’ve cared enough to stay. But in the end they gave up, and shot themselves. Genuinely made me almost cry because of how the unknown ID acted so much like me when I was a kid when they overdosed. Saying stuff like “my favorite letter is c! I think a must be lonely.” and so on. Anyways sorry for the longass psychoanalytic paragraph. This was an amazing game, and I’m glad you introduced me to it.

i once had a text conversation like that before about a year or two ago. she was my best friend and i was hers. im genuinely tearing up thinking about it. she constantly went through depressive episodes and became defensive when i talked to her about them. one day, she kinda just snapped. she told me she cut herself and was thinking about ending it all. thankfully, she didnt. we eventually broke apart and I would like to think that she was strong enough to continue on her own, but deep down i know. i dont know where she is now in life, i wish her the very best, but deep down i know.

i had a friend like that and the first time she ever called me was.. memorable alright.. she was crying as she is calling herself coward for not being able to end herself and i could hear something metalic drop on the floor what at that time instantly knew was a razor blade or a some other sharp object. I was on that call for hours calming her down and slowly getting her to leave the bathtub she was in and get to her room and patch up the wounds she had inflicted on herself. It was stressful situation but I thankfully knew somewhat what to do. I still have her contacts saved just in case she needs me. we dont talk much anymore as I have been diagnosed with my own mental illnesses and had surgeries soI havent been able to keep in contact with her. what I do know she is finally getting therapy and slowly being rehabeb back into society as she has ptsd for the word ''father.'' You can use your imagination for that. but the word was a trigger to her and her school got to know of this so they abused the word on her making her unable to go to school without having a ptsd episode and going hysterical. Im glad she is douing fine now but to this day I wonder what wouldve happened to her on that day if i wouldnt have been able to pick up the phone.. that thought haunts me still.

I was/am this friend. Not literally Rattler’s friend, of course, but that type of person. I struggle with suicidal thoughts daily, and being disabled and unable to work doesn’t help with the feelings of worthlessness, uselessness, etc., and often makes me not the best person to be around/interact with due to my intense feelings of frustration and self hatred, which can result in me kind of being an asshole to others.. anyways, that’s not the point of this comment. The point is I want to say thank you for being there for your friend. Regardless of where they may be now, I know they are probably grateful to you for being there for them. I’m somehow still alive. I pushed through. They could have as well. So don’t worry too much. Stay as optimistic as possible.

Sadly yes it does, everywhere around the world, in your country, maybe even your neighbor. I've been through that kind of moments twice. It always hurts just as bad, no matter what brought you to this feeling of loneliness, overwhelming sadness, or anger, it hurts badly. The best way to deal with it is to talk about it. And if a therapist doesn't work, then talk to your family, a close friend or not so close, hell maybe even to a stranger on the Internet. There's always someone go talk to. Music can help too. Metallica's song "Fade To Black" helps me a lot because they're stars known worldwide, they have thousands of fans but no matter their status, everyone can know this pain. Keeping it in yourself is the best way to grow that bad feeling, that need for the end, for freedom, and it might just end up like the Hotline guy did. You're never alone, we're about 8 billion on this planet. There HAS to be someone you can talk to. Even if it's just one person. Reach out, don't hesitate. We live among other humans, there's a reason for that, we can't do it all on our own, sometimes all it takes just three words: "Please help me"

The "Is death even real?" message really sticks with me. It's that time of my life, when everyone in my family is getting older. I've always been interested in concepts of afterlife, but I'm not religious and so, I always try to understand death as a concept, but every time I think about it, death just doesn't seem real. I always loop back to "well there has to be SOMETHING afterwards" but it's hopeless and it's always scared me. As people around me grow, and eventually run out of time, I think to myself, life is such a blessing, but it's also terrifying, you get ONE chance (as far as I know) to do EVERYTHING you want to, and sometimes, for some people, it doesn't work out. But there's nothing we can do. We already all live, but in a sense, that means we're already dead, and we are all locked into the cycle of life, like it or not. But this is why we need to live life to its fullest. We're all here so why not make the best of it? If people actually read this, just remember. Whatever you're going through right now, it's probably not the end of everything, it might really feel like it, but if you just hold on, seek help, and work through it you will thank yourself later. Because if you give up now, there wont be a later, and as far as I know, there's nothing after life, and somethings always better then nothing right? Even if that something may seem bad, it's better then nothing, and if you keep pushing through everyday, you'll eventually reach that nothing. Or maybe it's something I don't know, but what I do know is this, life is beautiful, even if it may seem ugly on the outside. And make your life, the best one you can ask for, because once it's done, that's it, so it's best to try to enjoy it. That turned into a ramble lol hi people reading this

Hello rogurt, i believe that phone texting part was inspired by a game called “Don’t Take That Risk.” which has very similar texting and responses, the ending for this game however has a much more disturbing end, (Bit of a warning just in case, also if you somehow wanna play this game it would be preferred you play it instead of reading.) instead of a gunshot when you call them, you may hear the suicidal person choking on the other end, there are plenty of other kinds of endings, but this is the darkest one in my opinion. I believe the reason for the gunshot in this roblox game used a gunshot is perhaps due to the fact someone choking to death from suicide isnt very… “Family Friendly” for roblox. there isnt much of a point to this comment but i just wanted to say it, you probably arent even gonna read it or even read it entirely but still, i felt the need to comment it for some reason.

The repeating mantras at 17:48 felt confusing, but genuine. They were confusing to grasp, but that's because every life is individual and impossible to completely imagine. It's a sad to see that people can be driven to that. The phone part was also really sad because of the feeling that comes from not being able to help or comfort someone; you're scared to frighten them away but you really want be their friend. And then too much time goes by where you try to push it off, and then realize you can't do anything.

This. This is what a horror game should be in my opinion. No gore, no demons, supernatural beings or horrific monsters beyond comprehension. Just horrors within, and caused by, the human mind itself. Horror that, although portrayed using simple 1s and 0s, is real. So agonizingly real for so, so many people. Knowing things similar to that portrayed in games like this and others is what truly terrifies me. Depression, lonliness, suicide, sexual abuse, rape, trafficking, all of it real, horrible things that seem to be etched into the very essence of society. A blight, never able to be removed or cured. A game that brings light to these things (in a tasteful way)? That is true horror.

I think the story line is first the main character (the girl who got kidnapped) was driving down the road after leaving their house already feeling tired thinking about the old days of when she used to live with her mother got into a car crash and the person that found her kidnapped her and did experiments on her making her feel dizzy, high, depressed, and all other emotions including suicidal thoughts and repeating nightmares that drawn her to medication and potentially drugs her last moments were the text messaging when she finally lost it and ended her life in the call as she walks down the ways of death she keeps on repeating to herself probably regretting what she did

The texting scene ready hit home and made me cry. Because the texter (white) was really messed up badly. You could see it with their mixed emotions while texting, saying random and “weird” unusual things. Scaring people off with how they were talking to someone else. And then when he calls them Rogurt hears a gunshot and supposedly the texter (white) took their own life. I used to talk weirdly, awkwardly, and stutter a lot when I was extremely depressed (and slightly suicidal) yet still masking it every day until it drove me insane and “weird” like the texter (white). It’s sad how real this game is and how things could have gone differently for me.

If you like games like these you could try Eternity in lost dreams or Flowers for my moon Eternity in lost dreams is a tad tedious and boring but it works in a way that you explore the map, collect 4 notes (that spawn somewhat randomly) and then portal opens for like 5 minutes, if you miss it you need to read the 4 notes again. You might also find some secrets but I wont be spoiling those. Flowers for my moon are short stories, like 8 or 10? 2 of them are perma death, meaning you have one chance to beat them but the one you can fail forever isnt needed for the secret/true ending.

Those are actual events that could take place and the developers enforced those events into a game so damn well. It's honestly depressing that there are people out there that can't seek the help they need and just want someone to talk to, like in the game, and I'm glad amazing developers like them spread awareness on these topics, though kids might not be their audience. Thanks Rogurt for playing this game :)

Stuff like this and experiences like this bring me to one certainty in life. Sometimes, people just need a hug. No, really. It’s a way to show people affection and that may just be enough to stay their hand from any bad they were about to do. People need hugs. Friends, neighbors, family. Hell, even strangers deserve one. You never know what someone’s going through. And it’s even harder to understand if someone’s going through something in their head. Give people hugs, folks. Life is a gift. NEVER squander it. For anything. One chance is all we get. Give people hugs.

If you're going through this kind of stuff right now just remember that you're the one who can change everything. I believe that you really can. Negative emotions are always stronger than positive ones because of their ability to keeping you in the bad mood and not letting you think straight. Don't let them make yourself lost. this kinda seems like a Japanese game show, where a man basically had to survive off sweeptakes for until he earns enough money for 1 million yen, after that, they took him to another room, where he had to get enough money for a flight back to his home country, then he had to earn enough for a business class, then first class, and then they surprised him by opening the walls of his enclosure, and there was a massive audience, waiting to surprise him. But his expression was not happy or surprised. He was basically kidnapped for atleast 2 and a half years. The gameshow was then canceled years later for being "unhumane."

I played through this myself before watching, and honestly when the gunshot sounded I got so overwhelmed. I can't believe there's people making experiences like this in Roblox, when no experience/game I ever played has made me feel this way. Such an incredible experience.
