Phil is one of the remaining true legends we have left, and I will never be be able to put into words the amount of gratitude I have for what that man has done for music, the world, and myself as a fan. I’m 29, from Tarzan to Live Aid to But Seriously… (that face lol) to Turn it On Again and the rest of the Genesis stuff, Dance into the Light, etc I could go on for miles, I love it all. What a voice, what a drummer, what a composer, one of the best of all time (and a great sense of self awareness).

Mick Fleetwood was the drummer that got me started on drumming, it was Phil Collins is where I learned how to play with speed. I'll never forget being 8 years old and playing his iconic drum intro to In the air tonight. Thank you so much Phil Collins for everything you've done for us musicians both present and future.

Sabian, you share something with Phil himself, in that ,he was around 9 being introduced to Motown and started playing drums around 10 or 11 becuz of it. So, I guess you can expect young ones to be inspired now by YOU, becuz music will continue thru those who love the way they feel when hearing it and playing it... They live for it.

Love Genesis. From the beginning to the end. So many great, great songs & memories. All members very talented. Everything has a beginning & sadly, an end. Will remain one of my favorite bands. Great work guys. Let's hear it for GENESIS! 👏🙌👏👏👏

It wasn’t here in West Virginia where you was playing you was in Virginia somewhere it slips my mind exactly where you was going to perform. Always will be a huge fan no stalker but a fan that inspired me.

Legendary Drummer, musician and an incredible talented blessed person. My favorite Genesis song is "Turn it on Again". My favorite Phil Collins song is "The Roof is Leaking". As a 55 year old paralyzed Disabled veteran, I've been exposed to some great music that I would try to copy as I banged on the pots and pans in my father's house. From the late 1950s to 2012, was the greatest time in music. Musicians didn't sell out as much back then. They certainly wasn't on the cover of Bud Light. It was just a different time and feel in life.

Outstanding musical artist. Such a talent. His music means so much to me.

Phil is my favorite singer! God's masterpiece!! God bless you, your family and Genesis!

@@symbiosisaiwhile Peter’s sound may have been more interesting, Phil protected his voice better with proper technique. Sadly, Peter’s voice is almost ruined now due to forced singing at the extremes of his range.

I saw them in the Los Angeles Forum in 1986. It was Mike Rutherford's first performance after his dad's funeral. He flew back from England on Concord and a private jet to start the concert two hours later than scheduled. It was a great concert. It was worth the wait. Going to miss them. One of the best drummers ever.

Im almost 60 years old, been faithfully following since i was 7-8 years old. This music will never leave me, i. Love all of it. I can recall any song in my head, there library is extensive and many many great well thought out songs, some very complicated. There will never be another group or man like Phil, Peter, Steve, Tony and Mike. Ty, ty for all your music.. i hope we meet in the sky. .... This is He, God's chosen one who come to save us..... Only a man of God could write such perfect lyrics praising God. Ty Tony.

Always been a Genesis fan and have all their albums, as well as seeing them twice in concert. It is so sad to see Phil Collins look so ill. As well as having to give up playing, I recently found out that his last marriage had ended. I hope that his children will be there for him when he needs them, and perhaps when he doesn't.

People I usually say that to/about have done and are doing things that a lot of people can only dream of accomplishing and sometimes forget to take time out for themselves to just chill. Rest easy

I use the same phrase with my kids when they've put in a hard week at school/work as well. It's a meant as a compliment to his music , legacy and longevity. But I'm glad we both appreciate him. My mum was nursing director my step dad lived with type II until age 94. Yes. We had few issues. Angioplasty. Wound care wound care wound care was the mantra during the rough days. He pulled through. I wish you light & love. And for Mr Collins. Rest. Love. Utmost Consideration as my first Most important, Greatest musical influence in Genesis. My BFF today is a cop who collects vintage cars. Also. Type II. His partner, a nurse, experienced in rehab nursing, gives All diabetic patients a mango a day (keeps the dr at bay 😉) I wish you long life my friend. Best singer and the band just awesome. Phil and them are always together. I’m 83 and been a fan like forever. Loved him with Miami Vice. But his I Don’t Care Anymore topped everything. He looked angry and his band played their emotions to match his. Simply phenomenal!! He and they will live with us forever!! Prayers!!

Very lucky to have grown up in the Phil Collins & Genesis era. Your music is such a wonderful sound to my ears, even after all these years. I'm an otr truck driver, usually staying out on the road 4-5 months at a time & whenever I make my last delivery before heading home for some much needed hometime, I always play, 'Take Me Home'. Cause there's no place like it. Thank you, Phil, for all the music in your stellar & legendary career. 🙌🏻 🤝🏻
