If we keep cap space open, you could even see trades mid-season. I’m glad that Adams didn’t make any foolish moves to blow up the prospect pool unnecessarily or make any long term commitments with any Skinner/Okposo-like contracts.

Lots of time to make trades, remember Skinner was traded to Buffalo in mid August and this was before your time but Pierre Turgeon was traded for Lafontaine in Sept! Also Adams did a great job creating the new 4th line of Malenstyn Lafferty and Aube - Kubel. If you want a top6 winger see if Necas will play in Buffalo as Carolina only has 10 million in cap room and they have 3 RFAs to sign. Or call Winnipeg and ask about Ehlers or Cole Perrfetti who can play either wing or centre . IMO go with Benson or Zucker on the second LW. 3rd line centres to trade for as I have ZERO interest in playing Krebs there ... Morgan Frost Phi. They need a veteran D man , sign Jokiharju and make the trade. Tyler Johnson Chi yes his scoring numbers werent good in Chicago ( lack of talent on his line) but he has a career faceoff win percentage of 50%. Talk to the leafs see if Tavares would play in Buffalo . Get the Leafs to retain 20% and you can still sign UPL Krebs Malenstyn and Jokiharju . Dream trade which theres probably zero chance of happening is getting Boone Jenner from Columbus. RELAX guys Adams isnt done !

Because he’s played his entire career never made the playoffs and he is worst defensive forward in the league.

I was ok with the top 2 lines when it was Tuch, Thompson, Skinner and Peterka, Quinn, Cozens...sucks that Quinn got injured. At that point it seemed we only needed to add some grit to the bottom 6. Watch Skinner put up 40 goals this season, he was never good on the bottom 6. As far as buying out Skinner for cap space hoping for an upgrade, well a player needs to want to come to Buffalo, and it seems like Buffalo is on every players no trade list or they just don't want to play in Buffalo.

Sadly, the UFA market was thin on Big Splash guys.. you had a few but they were scooped up by the big guys quickly. That said, don't knock things too hard. We scored a ton 2 years ago.. last year, this team clearly was so focused on defense they forgot to play that O we had the year before. Would I love to see a big splash.. Maybe. but I've seen some that ended up being bad for the team or with little to no change. (ryan O'Rreilly anyone?) He needs the right deal and that just wasn't really there in UFA's...

Everything Adams said is correct if you break it down. The new signings replace Skinners goal scoring points by keeping pucks out of our net alone. We are a significantly better team now. With Lindy as coach we will improve both offensively and defensively. The increase in hitting and physical play will help us edge out more games as well. I do hope there is a big signing or trade but our fans need to have some faith in our players. We already have a really good roster.

Hes not done im sure hes looking for deals. Some Teams are in Cap Trouble and may need to move a player or 2

If a trade/FA candidate, who is not from the 716, tells KA that he wants to move to Buffalo, I’d suspect he’s running from the cops. They only like it here once they live here.

Everyone wants a Ehlers type trade. But what if the GM for the Jets wanted Savoie, Ostlund and Kulich and a 1st or 2nd for Ehlers on 1 year deal and no guarantee that he signs long-term. Would you be OK with that overpayment.

I think it's a Zegras deal. Anaheim has done nothing and they are building with skilled youngsters.

Guys, guys, guys…relax, he could have went out and picked up bums with bad cap hits like Timo Meier or Pierre Luc Dubois…then we cry for 8 years of nothing! Peterka played almost no minutes and had 28 goals, Quinn was on pace for 30 goals, Tage can get 50, Tuch 30, Dahlin 20, Byram 15, Power 12-15, Cozens 20-25, Zucker 20, Benson is skilled and played great at age 18! The goalies are outstanding, UPL had 5-6 shut outs, Levi winning NHL record, the defense is very talented…the Sabres owner has paid 70-90 million for contracts, he’s paid to salary cap limit for 10 years out of last 13-14, the Sabres owner has 7 billion dollars, he paid 1.4 BILLION cash for the Bills…he doesn’t care about money, the owner will spent the money when the GM gets the players in a trade to sign. You guys are too young to remember Golisano and Regis the worst cheap owners ever!

A few kids at least 2 will make the roster this year. Prob Jiri & Savoie or Rosen

@@Sabres1970 what’s concerning is that players with a NTC won’t come here. Makes it difficult to make trades. I love the young players, but don’t want them rushed in desperation.
