Yikes 6 oil changes in 84K miles? Previous owner was clueless. Can’t get away with that on a turbo. Bet they were running 87 gas in it too. Love this car Joe.

Meeee tooo. It runs so quiet. The timing chain was a disaster waiting to happen. It was rubbing against the head of a bolt inside there, and had rubbed it completely down to a nub. so the timing chain was making noise all the time, and I was mistaking the sound for injectors.

Maybe I don’t know though. My saab mechanic is a complete enthusiast and saabophile. He works on them remotely out of the back of his 95 wagon so he did all the work in my garage, and he really wants a new generation 95 like mine, but he will not break down and buy one because he is afraid of all the problems that crop up with them. I told him “you’re a mechanic and you know I’m inside and out” and he said “yeah but I don’t want to fool with all that hassle !”so that should be my clue to get out. he has eight Saab 900s and 93s

My god yes. I thought this engine turbo transmission combination would be pretty reliable, but I’m guess I’m thinking of GM 25 years ago.
