He is great! He talked to my 12 year old nephew as Maynard on the phone before he went on a ride in a NASCAR here in Phoenix. My nephew was terminal and this was a Make A Wish. He passed away about 4 weeks later, but he sure did make him laugh and smile! He watched that show several times a day!

Used to work construction in the Melbourne area and listened to Larry 'What the Hell is this, Russia' Cable Guy radio commentaries in the mid-90s. On our crew we decided it was in the best interest of safety to take our break when Larry was on because we would laugh so hard we couldn't do anything anyway.

He displays what is good and wholesome about this country as opposed to whats going on now and what gets all the news time. My wife and I on a monster truck team based out of Missouri and two things he said in the video resonate with me. It's show business. Everybody wants to be in the spotlight, but nobody wants to stay up until 6 am from the day before to get the truck ready for next show. It's way more work than most people realize. The other thing is the feeling you get when you make a kid that's seeing them for the first time, smile. Most drivers will tell you, "It's all about the kids." I will tell you if you do it for any other reason, it just isn't worth it. It's good to know that Larry (Dan) seems to be just as genuine behind the scenes as he does in real life.
