I know it really heartwarming that people follow tradition and protocol by coutsying to the higher member of the Royal. Pilipino has similar tradition we touch the hand or our elder to our forehead as a sign of respect.

This was just beautiful. I'd love to have been there for that! The intinsity of the colors of the grounds, plus the clothes of the people was magical! The horses seem to enjoy it so much too!🐴

Bows and curtsies when being presented on a one to one basis and also on occasions like Coronations and formal ceremonies, but a wave is fine for things like Royal Ascot

Curtsies are normally reserved for meeting the Royals face to face. But the Curtsies from the crowd showed a lovely respect for the Cown even though it wasn't strictly necessary. I thought it was a wonderful touch of respect from the crowd.
