The Rotator and Wrecker Lift More Heavy Tanks

The Wilcox team was called to lift and set two heavy tanks on the same day. In the morning, a 40,000 lb propane tank was lifted onto a trailer, was relocated, and set in place on new steel saddles. In the afternoon, a customer had purchased an 18,000 lb fuel tank and needed it set in place next to their barn for fueling up their fleet.

I just have to ask did that guy tow that tank all the way there with that tractor? That had to make for a long day! Was so good to see the shop and share stories and meet the crew! Hope to make it back one day. Take care WG

Yes, it was roughly 8 miles to the new location, and actually didn't really take too long for the transport! Was great finally getting to meet you, and glad you were able to spend some time with us and hang out at the shop. Hope to see you back again 👍🏻

For what ever reason, I was think if he geared up a pto driven air compressor, he could have air brakes on his float trailer.

I'm thinking he had the hydraulics from the tractor hooked to run the detach on the trailer, but until you mentioned it, I don't know that he had anything to operate the brakes. I would think some sort of compressor and a brake control would be easy enough to add.
Are they going to use that for compressed air?

It will be used for propane to heat the chicken barns. With the other tank that the farmer already had, now it will allow him to plan when to purchase a full semi tanker load of propane to fill up the tanks, and will allow him to get a better rate that way.
No permits required if a farmer uses his farm tractor to move that tank?

Since it is hooked up to a farm tractor and is for farm use, correct…so many things fall under the farm exemption category
