This was 25 years ago, and we're so far removed from Shari's death. But as you probably recall, when Shari died, it sent shockwaves around the world, as she was so beloved. Back then we all just assumed, well I guess thats the end of Lamb Chop. But Mallory has been doing Lamb Chop for so long now, that you forget that she was brand new to this in the late 90s. But in 1999, this was crazy to see that her daughter not only possessed the same talent, but was very good at it. And that she actually decided to take the reigns and take over her career performing with Lamb Chop.

Julia Child is breathing pretty heavy here. I know she was in her 80s at the time of this episode, and still sharp as a tack. And she lived for another 5 years after this. So I doubt the heavy breathing was anything health related, as she she didn't immediately die after this, and was still very able to stand, cook, and talk.

You're not supposed to do a close-up on Lamb Chop, when Mallory is a ventriloquist. The whole illusion is to see them together, and see Lamb Chop talking by herself.

@@DaisyPusher it's one thing when it's Elmo. The guy voicing Elmo isn't doing ventriloquism. But the whole magic of a ventriloquist act is to always see the performer and the puppet together.

@@joeybaseball7352 if you’re just staring at the ventriloquist mouth the entire time I can’t imagine it being that fun to watch. It’s a talent but that doesn’t make it the only goal. There’s also the whole character and franchise of Lambchop herself who is part of the “illusion”. It’s supposed to look natural and if you don’t at least include an OCCASIONAL closeup then that’s not natural. They are operating as 2 independent performers and we are allowed as an audience to fluctuate our attention around as we enjoy it. That’s the whole point. I think you’re overthinking it.
