THE ROOKIE, CREATES BUZZ IN PROFESSIONAL PAINTBALL COMMUNITY
The Rookie, a short documentary, following an aspiring professional paintball player Omeed Azmoudeh, is causing quite a buzz among the professional paintball community. A full-time student at Southwestern University, The Rookie follows Omeed Azmoudeh and his journey just two weeks prior to his first professional event at Mid-Atlantic Open in Maryland. Shown through the eyes of this up and coming player, the film highlights Omeed's struggles of balancing school, training and going through the "grind" while helping to grow the paintball movement. Omeed says, "The opportunities presented to me in the world of professional paintball have been amazing. Capturing this time in my life is exciting and an absolute blessing. I'm excited to see the premier of the film!" Having only competed in division 4 competitions prior to going pro, Omeed's strength and determination sets him apart.
Produced by The Pure Production and directed by Sina Azmoudeh, this documentary has been submitted for best short film at the 2014-2015 Dallas Film Festival. Sina comments, "I'm very excited to share the experiences, emotions and triumph that The Rookie brings to the paintball community. A sport that grows internally among a thriving community, I hope this film helps in the process of expanding the movement."
The Rookie also features the Texas Storm team and is filmed in Texas, Maryland, Illinois, California and Florida. For more information about this film, please contact Sina Azmoudeh at sina@thepureproduction.com.

I played soccer for 15 years, hockey for 10 and tennis, baseball, football, swimming, and track off and on in between. I haven't been playing paintball my whole life but I can say without a doubt it is just as much a sport as any of the others listed. People just need to start talking about it more.
It highly annoys me, when I hear people say its a hobby and not a sport. You have to be in peak condition to excel... They have never played it, or, if they did, they obviously weren't playing right. Just because we aren't as big in popularity as football or baseball, doesn't mean we're not a sport... Before you criticize our passion and sport, play it for yourself.

Haha wtf?? You have to be in great shape to be able to compete in Xball lol. Possibly playing 13 total points in one match is extremely tiring, especially if you don't have two fully lines and only a couple rotators. Wearing yourself out and not having good stamina makes you play like shit. Not to mention all the many other aspects of the game. Obviously you never have played competitively on a national or even regional tournament.

@@bnzrk797 this but sPeEdBaLl iSn'T A SpOrT I'm sorry but if people sitting on their asses playing video games are considered athletes we're just as much if not more so . When people say paintball isn't a sport its unbelievably annoying just because D1 paintball isn't as big as the NFL or NHL doesn't mean we aren't athletes

A sport is something that you can win in, some physical activity
Been thinking about getting back into paintball haven’t played since I was a teenager, but was wondering what kinda cleets would be a good brand to get since I used to rock them when I was a kid for speed ball, I never played played on a team I just did pick up games only because I was a kid and couldn’t afford the sport at the time but now I can and wanted to rock out again. I’ve also been looking at getting a whole Set up since my auto cocker is super old and isn’t in good shape due to not taking care of it as a kid. Much love for you ballers

I see people figthing about wich game is better, Speedball or Recball...Why dont you stop fighting? We can transform recball in a sport too, just dont use imitations of real guns and dont use camo clothes, use sport t shirts and normal markers. Speedball is amazing, and is the sport side of paintball..... if someone want play recball as a sport, STOP playing like soldiers, and start playing it like a sport.....AND, I KNOW, I SPEAK A VERY BAD ENGLISH...
@joshholt4800

You really don't have to change anything, the rules can just stay the same and as for the field just fence off an area of trees and shrubbery. the reason people play "recball" or "woodsball" is for the simulation aspect of it. they want to feel the rush and adrenaline of having to strategically move through the woods and find your enemy before they find you.I personally love both types of play although I personally enjoy woodsball more. Plus when you said that they should use normal markers they do. A lot of the "simulation" guns you see are just low end mechanical markers with a kit to make them look like a AK or a M16. I personally think a circuit of recball would be amazing and attract more of a crowd to the world of paintball.
"aftershock" more like Dynasty invented paintball
DarylHarder, i see you just want to play soldier out in the woods
We in Germany have also the 1.Bundesliga in Paintball (DPL (Deutsche Paintball Liga)) ^^
i fucking love it!!!

What penalty did they commit that made them lose? Why did people get out? Side Note: I'm kind of new to paintball, what would be a good, durable, & relatively cheap starter gun?
@hazordouspotato7556
10 жыл бұрын
Well are you Interested in woodsball or speedball? Because a good woods ball gun would be the Tippman A-5. But I would recommend the invert mini for a good starter gun because of its cost, performance, and it's ability to be used in all situations. But if you can look to invest into the Empire axe which is basically it's big brother.
What penalty was it?

This tired, age old argument about "if it's not on tv/popular/can get a scholarship for it" it's *not* a sport has to have its throat cut at some point. Saying something isn't a sport would effectively be saying the following: a.) it doesn't have major sponsors, manufacturers, equipment, venues, or businesses backing it b.) it isn't recognized worldwide or countrywide and participated in regularly c.) anyone can do it and it doesn't take skill, hard work, or practice That being said, everyone of those characteristics is seen in paintball the entire world over. I would wager to say most professional level paintball enthusiasts are more in shape than most professional baseball players by FAR. Sure, for guys like me who only play rec ball you see a ton more blubber bombs waddling around the field who can't run worth a penny, but serious players are seriously athletic. Is what it is.
Sport only for a few !!!, Too expensive. $100 minimum for a day of play. If you play semi then more. $40, $70 box of paint. ( In practice you can easily go through 3 + boxes ). 2005 best year for paintball !!!!
It's not a sport it's a game, and I can cite reasons. 1. Sportsmanship is lacking 2. No official federation or a single official set of rules. 3. Price prohibitive, which is in direct conflict with things like the Olympic charter 4. No drug testing, or standard for substance's 5. No official ref federation/union/whatever 6. The way the PSP and NPPL have acted. 7. No self respecting professional athlete would even look at paintball once they know just how much they would be making. 8. Various leagues are almost completely run by the companies that make the equipment, which in pro sports is a conflict of interest. 9. only paintballers consider it a sport.

mariss711 almost all sports are price prohibitive... For example. Polevaulting poles, running spikes, cleats, hockey sticks, etc
I thought that kid everything he knows
personally I hate speedball its a step back the first paintball played was woods ball where its totally tactical the woods the trees and obstacles and camo to blend in its more real to life and the heart of paintball and speedball guns fail all the time with electronics cant take rain weather batteries die etc. every time I've used a speedball gun it failed epically in the field and how theirs these brightly coloured power rangers suits and those dumb looking inflatable bright coloured bunkers its a waste unnecessary its way better woods ball to corner off a field of woods and use natural surroundings and terrain and my woods ball gun stock does 17 balls per second the range is better and the guns are fully mechanical no batteries just air never fails and the guns are heavier but indestructible and realistic just my opinion upon a lot of experience

Just like how Javelin is played in the Olympics, with only distance as a unit of measurement. You don't expect an Aboriginal man to be throwing a javelin at wild animals in an Olympic stadium no do you? Whilst speedball may have its drawbacks, it provides a controlled environment that can be well balanced and regulated. Also if you despise the speedball community so much, remember one thing, we are only striving as hard as we can to grow paintball as a whole into a sport. A sport that generations and people of all physiques can enjoy regardless.

After you play woodsball and rec for a while, it eventually gets old. Its fun, but I was hungry for something different. Tournaments are based on skill level and are sooo much more rewarding than recball

love paintball anyways in all forms I guess I just prefer the original paintball I guess my point is lets get the kids off of call of duty and gears of war sitting on their ass,s all day thinking their pro and do it for real and that's paintball my friends.. physically active guns brotherhood team play and fun shooting each other with no dire consequences and a lot more realism get out their and play people and good for all ages its a great game for people to get into but I am just a little annoyed at the paintball fields a lot don't allow you to use your personal marker and only allow you to use their paintballs as while which is nonsense this is in my area which is annoying because rentals suck and they charge too much for paintballs if your a serious player of coarse your going to own your own gun and use paintballs that you prefer all I need is a field and air im not paying 80$ for rental gun paintballs field time plus air refills, this is why woodball is more intense everybody owns their own marker you can find a field for free and you supply your own paintballs and ussaully somebody brings a scuba tank for refills 5$ for the day
