    If I was Rolls Royce, this is the kind of content I would be all over. They put so much thought and effort into this launch with the aim of showing the whole environment the car is about, not just the car itself. This is a better insight into that than any review of the car itself. Absolutely love it.

    That was a good illustration of a wealthy person supporting the abilities of extremely talented individuals while living the high life. Geologists, engineers, architects, producers, providers of services, etc. In essence, the realisation of what we observed required the work of numerous professionals to come together and build a billionaire’s vision. Thanks JWW uncut this was fantastic!

    Wage labor is renting yourself via "self ownership". Employment is literally renting another human being as if they're property. The employer-employee relationship is a very insidious dynamic. Employment is a rental contract, like if you rented capital (say, a chainsaw from Home Depot), you pay rent for the "time preference" (basically the cost of time) for a piece of property. Capitalism is based on a principle of self ownership, which sounds empowering, until you realize that most people don't own capital goods other than themselves, and must rent out the authority over themselves as pieces of "human capital". This is a process of dehumanization where human beings are valued for their return on investment as capital goods. This is why, at the very least, capitalism needs unions and safety nets (or abolishment), or else the system won't value people for their human value. Importantly we must also think about our sick, elderly, and disabled people, as they can't provide competitive economic return for the investor class to value. We must figure out a way to change this economic system if we wish to value each other.

    @@WanderingExistence In your attempt to define "vulture capitalism," which is the use of capitalism for the purpose of exploitation of others, you use a lot of jargon. What I'm referring to is a setting where the system enables experts/professionals to offer goods and services to create something that we as a species will be able to recognise as being something that will endure. This is a testament of what our species is capable of engineering, creating, building, and manufacturing, and this billionaire is employing the best in all disciplines across all business sectors to make it a reality. If your call in life is to deploy a system that can achieve and improve on what’s happening here, then let’s here it. Until then leave well alone.

  • @WanderingExistence

    @@martinb1659 Excuse me, but no, I was describing capitalism; all capitalism is vulturistic. This "jargon" is basic terminology found in classical liberalism and neoclassical liberalism. It's economic speak, with roots from John Locke, the philosophical founder of capitalism. You seem to really be confusing technical expertise and development with the use of a capitalistic system, which isn't necessarily the same thing- Capitalism really isn't that old, Humans have been making incremental developments long before capitalism even began, and it only makes sense that humans can develop a system that treats people better than how they're being treated under this system. Is it so ridiculous to say that feudalism didn't treat people well so we had to create a better system... Well now we need a new system that improves on the current system. For somebody who wants to champion human developments you seem to be skeptical of the development of new systems with phrases like "leave well alone". It's not "well", that's the problem. Personally, I've been interested in two grassroots groups focused on economic democracy, called the Next System Project and the Democracy Collaborative. They have devised a way to keep production local and contract service to cooperatives, called the Preston Model. They have helped multiple cities struggling with job loss due to factory closures build back their communities, in the US and UK. In addition, trade unions, collectives, public banks, credit unions, community land trusts, CSA's, and many other democratically controlled institutions can work together to create democratic networks outside the market to create an economy that doesn't reduce people, their governments, and the environment to a monetary value. I think this can be a viable strategy to give people the autonomy over their work. I believe economic democracy is the only way people who work for the economy will have the economy work for them, their families, and the planet too. This way of revitalizing communities by building community wealth has helped many communities all over the globe, and it is utilized by the UK labor party and touted by Jeremy Corbyn. Preston, Lancashire became the most improved city in the UK because of community wealth building. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4OWyMqYhrHXo5c.html Not to mention, much of the progress in labor rights has been due to union's collective power. The thing that draws my conviction to the movement is that I can see it now, helping empower people to live happier, healthier, and wealthier lives. But of course, you weren't actually expecting a thorough response with real world examples and articles backing up my conclusion. You just wanted to tell me to leave "well enough alone". Smh.

    @@WanderingExistence Although I was making a clear distinction between 'vulture capitalism', which is exploitative, and those that free up human ingenuity, economic improvement for both the individual and communities, etc., you appear to flesh out your ideas on a candidate economic system that may replace capitalism in your most recent response. But alas, you are like everyone else with an idea, so let's see if yours can catch on.

  • @WanderingExistence

    @WanderingExistence

    @@martinb1659 Believing that good ideas will naturally just take foothold is a falsehood. Good ideas often have to fight against entrenched and traditional ways of thinking/ power structures. If we're going to be honest, there is no distinction between vulture capitalism and the freeing capitalism you speak of- They are simply two sides of the same coin. The pursuit of capitalistic private property rights stems from hundreds of years of feudal lords pressuring the king of England to give them more freedom, but this was freedom for the already powerful feudal lords. Although serfs and peasants gained freedoms like the capitalist concept of 'freedom of movement', they were still exploited under the new property regime. It's freedom in some respects and exploitation in others. There are real world examples of integrated cooperative models that are fighting and helping preserve communities; "In the 11 years since then, Evergreen Cooperatives has added three more cooperatives to its ranks, growing from two companies with a total of 18 workers in 2010 to five companies with approximately 320 workers. Those workers are paid 20 to 25 percent higher than employees at the cooperative’s competitors. “Our average pay rate is close to $15,” says John McMicken, CEO of Evergreen Cooperative Initiative. “But when you take profit sharing into account, which could equate to $4 to $5 an hour, we’re hoping that we have a shot at breaking the $20 an hour ‘blended rate,’ if you will.” In 2019, the average compensation at Evergreen Cooperative Laundry was around $18 per hour." - Despite a Rocky Start, Cleveland Model for Worker Co-ops Stands Test of Time, by Brandon Duong

    I live in a region of Portugal famous for its wine, and our national grape variety, Touriga Nacional. Here they drink the wine over spending too long discussing the wine, and allow the wine to do the talking. They say that if you have to talk more about your wine than the wine says for itself... Well lets just say fill in the blank! As a Software Engineer by trade am extremely lucky to have some incredibly affluent Clients. One of which owns a tremendous vineyard in the Douro, set in the most spectacular countryside along the river. So if you are ever in the area James hit us up! Our views can compete with the Napa Valley all day. Once again amazing content on this Channel, am beginning to enjoy this more than the primary Channel. Safe travels Sir and thank you for sharing behind the scenes of your escapades.

Bill Harlan could have opened some museum, but he created something more beautiful. James, thank you for us being 'the third eye' of your experience. There are so many beautiful masterpieces all around. I will get lost in photographing this winery from every angle. You constantly mention "I don't know if this camera can pick up the detail from what I see", have you considered maybe having a look at the Sony A1 (8K & mirrorless) or the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, or something similar of high quality for you to capture in higher resolution? Slightly more weight but the images would be in 8K. I hope you and your colleague truly enjoyed Napa. It is a magical place to visit. As are other wine regions in the world such as the France. That was so nice seeing this property setting here for this co-presentation of winey and a car brand. Also, that walk down several levels was very nice to see their wine that is kept for a future introduction is so nice. I liked when the host there with a wine glass there talks about the three elements of what the wine family has discovered. I see his first two elements specifically the volcanic elements because California sits on a tectonic plate area of the San Andreas Fault line. So, volcanic soil is really praised in many different industries as to be acceptable for rich for planting vines. But the third element was very interesting to know here as well!!!

    You gave some great video anyway!! I really like that. It has been some years that I went on a wine tasting there with coworkers. But again, that wine company presented a great sitting with you and other media people.

    I have to confess that I have no direct interest in wine but that was really interesting and what an absolutely stunning place!!! The attention to detail in design is incredible. Wow.

    I'm enjoying the behind-the-scenes aspects of your videos sometimes more than the reviews themselves. Are you planning some sort of travel program with the BBC? If not you should, and what more do you expect from Rolls Royce the best of everything?

    You know RR is dead serious about Spectre when they partner up with the Harlan family as part of their product launch. James' reaction on camera isn't exaggerated at all; Promontory and its sibling brands are coveted and revered in the world of oenology. To illustrate their pedigree as a wine estate, the only way to buy their wine is by applying for an allocation. Its not uncommon for a member to be on the waiting list for 2 years before they receive an allocation. What a life you're living.
