This song has such a special meaning to me. It reminds me of my mother who is suffering from depression and other mental issues over the last 30 years - basically whole my life (I'm 21 now) and no matter how hard I try to help her out (by cooking and feeding her, cleaning the apartment, giving her (too) many advices over all these years, trying to make her happy) I never succeed. She is never happy, not even for me. I want to make her happy, but at the same time she makes me unhappy and I sometimes resent her for that. :( Faith has been broken - because she lied to me about my father all these years (I found out recentely about him), tears must been cried (I always cry when I listen to this song), but I somehow always end up hoping that someday we'll ride the horses together - meaning that she will find her peace and I will follow her into the light. This song gives me everything that a song could give you - hope, love and emotions. It speaks to my heart in the same way that I speak to my mother. Thank you, Rolling Stones!

Never been a fan of new music, and i'm 11. i love music like this, the rolling stones are my favourite band. i saw them live at hyde park. this song is so great and always will be to me and my dad. me and my dad danced together at a party to this song, and he told me how proud he was of me for getting into grammar school. thank you so much Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Woods and Charlie Watts for this amazing song that will never die and outlive generations to come.

Daddy I miss you ❤ everyday; wild horses can't keep us apart!

Keith tells of the original inspiration for the song. His son Marlon was born to Keith and Anita Pallenberg in August 1969 and there was talk about going on tour shortly after he was born. Keith was so enamoured with his first son he did not want to leave and he insisted that "wild horses couldn't drag him away" from his son to go on tour. Keith immediately recognised a great song title and wrote the music and the refrain ...then brought it to Mick to flesh out the verses. Mick changed the lyric to be about a love affair breaking up, and one of their greatest songs ever written came into being from a very real emotional reaction Keith had about his son. I love stories like this that tell where the inspiration for a great song can come from.

I read somewhere that it was inspired by the time Marianne Faithful was rushed to hospital after a drug overdose, and when Mick turned up she begged him not to leave, to which Mick replied "Don't worry wild horses wouldn't drag me away". But who knows?

I have heard Keith tell where the inspiration for wild horses came from several times and in several different interviews. Right from the horses mouth, so to speak. It fits with the way they wrote most of their hit songs. Keith is inspired and comes up with the refrain and the germ of the song's musical melody and then hands his composition off to Mick where he fleshes out the rest of the verses lyrics and together they refine the whole song.. It also fits with the deep love Keith has for all his children. Richards is a devoted family man. His first born son, Marlon, he had with Anita Pallenberg, was very special to him.

This song has one of the most beautifully devastating closing lines of lyrics in all of music: “I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie. I have my freedom, but I don’t have much time. Faith has been broken, tears must be cried. Let’s do some living, after we die.” Man what lyrics.

Here in the U. S. 2 of my favorite radio stations used to play "the greatest 100 rock songs of all time" and do the greatest rock band, I was partying a lot in 87-88 but I remember both years they put The Stones in 2nd place and Beatles in 1st. Personally I'd switch it. Those were the years I was introduced to Metallica, Megadeath, saw the 1st airplay of Welcome to the Jungle on MTV, LOVE all those bands and music but I was raised on rock from the 60's & 70's. Some of THE best music EVER, especially The Stones.

what happened??

I am and shall always be a fan of The Stones I'm 59 yrs old I still remember listening the records my brother and sister played in the sixties. I was 4 , 5 yrs old It was wonderful !! And still is ! In 1982 I went to their concert in Basle, Switzerland . It was the first time !! We were a bunch of friends who drove from Lausanne

The quote "Let's do some living after we die" always gets me, and I don't even know what it means. Beautiful song.

R.I.P Roy... Granddad... You were my best friend, an understatement. This song was the last one we listened to and the list of things I would do to just hear that sweet laugh just one more time, is too long. I love you always so fly high. Til we ride those horses one day

The Rolling Stones transcends through time , from the 60' s , I am so glad I grew up in the 70 's when all cool bands were playing on the radio , today's bands can't even come close !

Charlie was the perfect drummer for the Rolling Stones. 80 years is a long time for rock n roll star to live. Married to one lady for the rest if his life...a family man ...God Rest His Soul.

Found out today my oldest brother has passed; he was always my protector growing up (I was the baby) the first sibling of three to go. R.I.P. Robert James…will miss you being on this earth always looked up to you the epitome of cool, driving your light bronze fastback Stang, lettering on HS tennis team, looking just like Steve McQueen ~ can’t watch the Bullitt movie chase scene, without picturing you. So upset Charlie Watts passed away yesterday. He was 80, cannot really believe any of the stones have or will make it to 80 years. RIP Charlie! You were one of the best drummers of all time.

Certainly one of their absolute best songs. And one of the best Rock songs ever recorded.

This may well be my favorite Rolling Stones song, beating out many tremendous competitors. Something about this tune evokes a potpourri of memories from my long-lost youth -- sad, passionate, melancholy, hopeful, longing.... I never thought Mick Jagger had a very good singing voice, even though he's a tremendous composer and performer. But he nails it big-time on this song. I highly doubt anyone could do a better cover.

Jagger sounds so world weary and sage on this song. I love the way the the stones resolve the chord sequences; introspective yet forging on through life with swagger.

If you ask me, Wild Horses is the best song of Rolling Stones...

I sang this song word for word to my mother 05/05/17 the morning she passed away! Ironically enough she was named after another stones epic tear jerker Angela(Angie) rip mum! Life has never been the same since you left us!

When our souls leave our bodies, they return to their natural state tattoos n all. They are my spiritual angels💚💙

This was the first time I listened to the rolling stones, and I was immediately drawn to this song and listened right away. I thought this was a masterpiece, and now I have memorized a lot of the rolling stones songs, this adds happiness to my life

This song brings back so many memories of my childhood, when I was travelling by car with my parents and visiting beautiful places while listening to beautiful, beautiful music. It also makes me think of my dad, a big Rolling Stones lover and the ultimate Keith Richards fan. If I love rock'n'roll music, that's because of him and those long road trips.

My dad passed away 2 years ago and this was one of his favorite songs.. daddy i love and miss you💔

Thinking about my aunt's wife Mary who's fighting cancer; she used to ride wild horses when she was young...we'll ride them someday again ❤ this song always made me think of her but now its even more special. Good luck auntie ❤

This is my favorite Stones song. This one and Angie.

I'd never heard this song until it was played at my dad's funeral, now I can't stop playing it.

i can’t even play this song on guitar without choking up and crying while singing. everyone has a different interpretation of this song. and i’m sure all of them are sad and heartbreaking as the same as mine.

My aunt took her own life a couple years back.. I always put this one on for her, she was an amazing inspiration on my life and I’m greatful for all the late night joints we smoked to The Rolling Stones and many other greats . Rest in paradise aunt Beth. I love you forever
