Partially true ... the previous transformations are usually defined under the "rock" genres, say, psychedelic rock, folk rock, progressive rock ... disco is totally a different concept, though the funky affair started years before, fingerprint file, hot stuff etc etc @@LSUOdyssey

Back in the day, many rock stations wouldn’t play this because they thought this was a disco record and they all had the attitude that “Disco Sucks”-but now many classic rock stations play this because they know that this much more than just a 70’s fad record-it’s classic rock R&B and soul all rolled into one MAGNIFICENT track-one that has stood the test of time and many music fads over the years-it’s NEVER gone out of style! One of the Stones’ VERY BEST!🌟

I love this video of Studio 54,it really showed the whose ,whose of all the celebrities that went there. It was a time of musical expression that stayed in Studio 54,but people would talk about the comings and goings of the celebrities who enjoyed themselves at the establishment . It was a time of music 🎶 🎵 and romance, and art and dancing, and just having fun and doing whatever it is you wanted to do. Not,everyone could get in either. This place had a lot of hush hush secrets that went on there as well.

@ijcn0jir3nvjn3fjcifn It might be funky - but bass lines just don't get any more Disco than that. Walking a bass line up and down scales is quintessential Disco. This song was inspired by Mick's times at Paradise Garage. No need to be bashful about it. Obviously The Rolling Stones weren't.

@jeffrey cotton Mick was no stranger there. I remember how disco-phobic and even racist a lot of Rolling Stones fans were back in the 70's. But what a lot of rock fans weren't getting (still aren't), is most of their biggest heroes listened to, were inspired by and drew from black artists. That includes Mick. The Rolling Stones would not have been what they were had he not. Rolling Stones fans shouted racial slurs at Prince and booed him off stage when he opened for them in 1981. A lot of fans were angry with Mick for doing Miss You because they thought it was "disco". It's all very childish and uninformed. As Mick said himself "it's just a beat". Of course there was cheesy disco, just like there was cheesy everything else. At the core of their issue with it was racism, not music. Mick obviously did not share that attitude. He couldn't resist the music culture that was Paradise Garage. You can find articles and photos on the internet.

Having gone to STUDIO almost every night back then there were nights we knew to use the back entrance on 53rd St. It was almost always a mob scene at the front... but this one night the back door was jammed, too! Every once in awhile the huge metal door would pop open and a few people got in... I was more concerned about getting in and the next thing I new I was standing next to Mick Jagger and he put his hand on my right arm and said to the guys inside : He is with me! We got pulled in... I didn't really care because it was that kind of place.... everyone who was anyone back then was there but not all on the same night. Fun times.

#Anthony R ~~> Anthony you did an amazing job putting this together. It's definitely a compliment to the The Stones, the song Miss You, Studio 54 & all the beautiful people who frequented the famed Haunt back in the mid to late 70's. I love coming back & watching it time & time again & always find myself trying to put name to face of all the 54 regulars who were fortunate enough to be on 'the List'... A Fine Job you did my friend. What a time to be so alive & free @ this A-Lister's Club where nothing was Taboo or off limits & everyone was accepted based on the simplicity of an individual's personality, over the top costumes & the sheer beauty of each person in the eyes of the beholder. Truly the epitome of Sex, Drugs & Rock n Roll... A tip of the🎩to you my friend... topps👣

It's quite stunning to look at these photos and realize how many of these people are gone. Although some of them died from cancer, old age, and other common means, it would appear that excessive drugs, alcohol, and AIDS claimed far more. Many of these deaths may well have been prevented by friends who could have guided these icons to rehab. Elvis, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and the list goes on. Famous people always surround themselves with vampires but forget to include a real friend who cares about them more than the money or lifestyle. Simply sad!

John Baptist, It's all relative, this song is different from their usual heavier style blues Rock, and I like it, but I'm glad they got back to their roots of their non repeating disco looptape (boring) style music like this one. I love the line Mick uses at 1:36 to about 2:10 "... Craaazy ... uh-huh a-huh,,,,, Watsza Matta wit you Boy.!?! ...". Mick using hip/ghetto/Ebonic style slang (with brit accent lol), yet it fits this song perfectly. Y'all know wha Aiyas SAYin bro?

Not my favourite stones song by any stretch but..I'll admit, it's just pointing out that once again, the stones can grab any genre at random, put thier spin on it and own the shit out of it. Not many acts that come from a blues roots background can then take a stab at disco, psychedelic, punk, pop and even more and still stay right at home in their element.

I was 24 at this time, a kid from small town Maine, living in NYC for I don't know a week, 2 weeks in a very cheap hotel only for seaman, most looking to catch a freighter or tanker out of NYC. During these days I saw Christi Brinkley walking towards me extremely fast on a crowed NYC street side walk. I was in CBGB's, Andy Warhol sat down at the table next to me to listen to a punk band called the Steel Tips. I saw Dick Cavet about this time in the city walking around. It was just time. I walked pat Studio 54 once or twice but there was a line and had no idea of what was going on in there, had I got in. Killing time in NYC waiting for a ship, I also saw the movie Alien that came out that year in a theater matinee with only one other person. I had nightmares that night back at the hotel.
