I am among those who think the Stones are one of the greatest rnr bands...but listening to this, can't help but think how incredible their luck to land Mick Taylor... what a virtuoso. What excellence he brought to their live performances. And how modestly he executed it.

A very good JJF . Still like the Circus one the best. Bills Bass does come through here. Taylor I suspect puts in s nice solo. You never know unless you see whos playing. Keith played alot of solos back then. Gimme Shelter OMG.

Apart from being arguably the best ever frontman, Mick Jagger is an awsome lyricist.

Mick Taylor came to the Stones from John Mayalls band where he replaced Peter Green in 1968 (Clapton was wth Mayall prior to Cream) Peter Green went on to form Fleetwood Mac (the blues one) he wrote Black Magic Woman. lol hey we’re all great guitarists but I especially like Taylor. He really got them to a new level as a Rock band all the bands at the time 1969-72 had stellar lead guitarists it was sort of a pre requisit after the Groovy London sound Blackmore Page and Iommi too

I think Mick Taylor kind of forced Keith to up his game on guitar or be left in the dust.

No doubt at all. Keith grew his game tremendously during this period, which led him to sharpen his weaving when Ron came on the scene.Ron was ready for it. Guitar leapfrog...a singular method of communication.❤
