It varies by state as well. I haven’t seen any PA’s in Mississippi run codes or do advanced procedures at all. They don’t do central or femoral lines, chest tube, paracentesis, etc.

Hey Adanna!!! Thank you for the video. I've been trying to watch all of them the last couple of days. I'm an aspiring PA and I would love the opportunity to pick your brain and get your input on some things. I understand you're busy so if it's not possible, I'll still be a fan. Thank you!

Hey Adanna! I love your channel 😋 How did you get used to seeing patients that have very serious injuries without feeling faint? I have heard stories of med students passing out while sitting in on a surgery.

Adanna, I've been following you for a while and I have been so inspired by your journey! I gave up on my own goal of becoming a PA after receiving a great opportunity in my work field, but I can't seem to get the dream of being a PA out of my mind! I have been a paramedic for a little over ten years and have bachelor's degree. I'm looking into a few schools and I would love to know if you have any pointers on what a person should be looking for to see if they may be a good match with a school to know if they should even begin the application process. It all seems so overwhelming! I'd love to see a video on your feedback. Thanks for all of your videos and advice!!

Hey Adanna!! Thank you so much for your informational videos. I have a question, how did you get your CNA certificate? What program did you take? I am having trouble finding an online CNA program. Do you have any recommendations? I am a full time student so I want to take advantage of the quarantine to get my certification. Thank you😊

I am a current PA-S on my gen surg/trauma rotation and I’m loving it! I have a quick question for you. The hospital I am at is shift work for all the PA’s on staff. Is that also what you do with your trauma service too? The PA’s I am working with now work about 40 hours per week when they are scheduled. Is that similar to your experience as a trauma PA too? Thank you!

Don’t let them brainwash you. Some people actually need pain medication. I went to the emergency room today for accidentally hitting my thumb with a hatchet. After 5 hours of bleeding due to the incompetence of a Physician Assistant, who thinks i nicked an artery and isn’t sure if I damaged my tendon, sent me home with no pain medication. She says Tylenol will be fine. I can’t sleep due to the pain I’m in right now, so here i am. I guess that makes me a drug addict.

No city care PAs work solely in the ICU or IMC. Trauma PAs work in the ED in the trauma Bay, and follow their pts throughout the hospital, like the floors, the OR, the PACU, the ICU

Girl i got thrown off with who’s running the trauma question 😂 Girl we are the Physician’s ASSISTANT only so obviously it’s the Physicians who run the trauma 😂 It’s so annoying how people think our profession is that much impressing. We’re basically just assistants to our MDs like it’s not that impressive. So cringey how other PAs think they are different breed 😂

nah, you got it all wrong. The PA does most of the work. We're not "assistants" to the physician (despite the name Physician Assistant). We COLLABORATE WITH physicians. The PAs DO run the trauma and then report to the physician eventually, but it is the PA who makes all the calls/decisions, places orders for imaging/labs/medications, develop and implement treatment plans, etc. as we are autonomous practitioners. We practice autonomously. Doctors do not tell PAs what to do. And, it IS impressive what PAs. Do not discredit, belittle, or diminish the importance and role of PAs, please.

@@JoeyPepperoniX99 I think you’re just egocentric and a type of clinician who wants all the credit and recognition. You know it’s not and accept it 😂 What’s the reason attendings review the notes and/or the orders? It’s because MDs run the show. Sorry not sorry. Wake up hahaha
