Islam comes from the root word 'Salam' which means peace. It is also derived from the Arabic word 'Silm' which means to submit your will to Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala), to All Mighty God. In short Islam means peace acquired by submitting your will to Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala), to All Mighty God. And anyone who submits his will to All Mighty God and acquires peace is called as a Muslim.

On congratulating an atheist because he/she said "There is No God and that you just add Allah to complete the Shahada: God means Allah. An atheist is saying Allah does Not exist. The atheist is right if he/she said There is No god and we just add but Allah or God. So the full shahada in English is There is No god but God. Anti-Islamic plagiarist Reza Aslan distorted this important concept by plagiarizing a manuscript of the same title. Geneive Abdo ran with it as "No God but God" which is incorrect.
