He's such a cool guy! Also, Carl's voice gives him so much personality, I didn't know people disliked it. I guess they do because he's kind of annoying, but as a VA, Joshua did a great job.

I really appreciate Lex asking my question to Josh! As an amateur voice actor I'm a bit self-conscious about how few auditions I generally send, so it's a bit of a relief to hear that pros in the industry aren't busy all the time.

That was news to me. I mean true, his reasoning is spot on for why his voice is intended to drive a negative reaction. But tbh, Carl's smart comebacks & overall personality is really great & I would honestly not want him to be anything else. Sounds like when Jason Griffith voiced Jet the Hawk from Sonic Riders. The fans didn't like his unusual parrot voice, but felt it justified his jerky attitude.
