    He's a method actor. He stays completely in character from the time he walks on set till the time he walks off. It's just how some actors do it.

    If this is what Ed Harris gives, I imagine what he had to gave to shoot The Abyss, with James Cameron behind the camera ... Two strong characters ... But the movie was f*** good (my opinion)

    David Morse didn't leave the shot because he was afraid of Ed Harris; they're both method actors, he knows how he works. Morse went back to his original marker and then walked into the frame like he supposed to.

    Hollywood abandoned him? My brother in Christ, he's been nominated for 4 acting Oscars and is currently on the hit HBO show Westworld and was on Top Gun: Maverick. He's still acting.

    Well i heard somewhere that it was so intense for him and the actress who played his wife that he said that he didnt want to work with james cameron after that movie .dunno if its true though

    It was pretty intense. He nearly drowned when James Cameron put him through a particularly dangerous stunt. Ed actually punched him out and stormed off the set.

    @@A.French Yes, he also refuses to talk about the film to journalists. Michael Bay kept asking him about making The Abyss during The Rock, and Harris told Bay he had a hard-on for James Cameron. Bay did later buy Cameron's company, Digital Domain, so make of that what you will.

    its crazy how Ed Harris can go from a psychopath, into a guy with a good sense of humour lol..like when he laughs and jokes with the crew a lil bit. Even if he was never nice, i would still respect his roles because he is a damn good actor. He was 1 of the best in Gone Baby Gone.

    Both the scene where Nic Cage falls down and keeps going without skipping a beat and the scene where he’s lying on the ground going on and on are both amazing.

    Ed Harris is a fucking champion. To everyone who keeps posting that he's being an asshole, he's just trying to keep in character. I'm an actor. The hardest part of acting is screwing up a line once and then trying to hold onto the mood to do it again. Ed is a pro.

    He's not getting angry or frustrated with anybody other than himself. He even laughs during some of the more intense freak outs. Even though he's in character as an actor he can still laugh at the ridiculousness of repeating lines over and over again!
