@@AndreaMengucci IMO something in beetween would be the best. I don't need every interaction explained at the beginning, but a 30 second quick explanation of each decks "plan" is nice. Something around the lines of: "This is a midrange deck. It's goal is to disrupt the opponents first turns with removal and discard until we can deploy our big beater in the form of Exalted Angel or/and pumped Nantuko shadow" (while showing the cards that do each thing on screen, so whoever wants can pause it and read them), should be more than enough to give some context without dragging the video. Also I'll add that I don't know what's the majorities opinion on the matter, but I personally enjoy top players explaining decks, there is a lot to learn there, specially from people with your knowledge and skill (which are not that many, at least not that many making content) . If it's there, for people who don't enjoy that, they can just skip it. If it's not there, people that do enjoy it, can't watch it. Anyway, that's my two cents. keep up the good work!

@@MengusWorkshop I have. I honestly love the transparency in the explanations of the older cards because there was no website you could go to or KZreadrs to break it down for you. It’s very cool that they wanted to make it so new players could figure out what the cards did and how they worked by just reading them but looking back on it now with a little bit of magic knowledge is just funny to me. It seems so simple now, almost like second nature, but we’ve all had to pick up a card and read it to understand it at some point so I do find the older cards to be both endearing and a tad silly haha

Bad moon, black knight, order of ebon hand, diabolic edict, dark ritual, hypnotic specter, hymm to tourach, drain life, lake of dead, back in the late 90's. BTW, Tommi i want to see those lands making a 90 degree angle. 😂

I started playing in 2002, onslaught is the block I remember most distinctly. I play a lot of modern now, idk how it didn’t occur to me the block I basically started in was the cutoff for the format. Kinda makes me want to play some pre-modern. I love the idea of a format frozen in time that will pretty much never have your deck messed up by new cards.

Great banter, sweet decks and easy to follow what you guys are doing in terms of decisionmaking and strategy. This is a really well produced video and coincidently, it made me very interested in the pre-modern format. So far the decks that I've seen are far more combo / control oriented, which is a bit out of balance if you ask me. There are basically only monored goblins / burn as aggressive options, but the format might evolve a bit, so I still have hope. The best part about it, is that it involves only non-rotating cards and has a very understandable banlist. That means buying into it might be expensive, but the cards will never rotate and more or less keep their value or increase. Please consider featuring a little more of this interesting format, it fits really well with the vibe you guys have and your love for older cards.

Arena Zoomer here! Please play more Premodern, it's really neat to see an era of Magic that looks so foreign, yet is still the game I love! I'd personally love to see some Premodern decks matched up against some Standard decks as well, just as a comparison of Magic across eras. But I fear the Standard decks might be too strong, even with the smaller cardpool.

I wanted to pitch something of a technical suggestion: if you haven’t already, in the side shot, would you consider framing the players in a way that shows their hands and maybe a bit of the field?
