i went here a few months ago, and i’m happy to tell you that the characters are in a better condition. the middle stage is closed but billy bob and rolfe look much better, even though they still can’t move as much as they used to.

Pretty haunting when you really just think of it all. They are stuck in this perpetual time loop. The lucid, naive expressions of Billybob, who seems to still be pushing the band to perform at their best quality even though they are worn and just want to give out. He is the only one who still holds onto the dream- the dream of makin’ it... the dream of life returning to the good old days when he lit up a full room of pizza-eating guests. When the band was happy, they were friends. Little does he know, most of his pals around the country have gone to the dump, been cast into a fiery demise. He’s one of the last of his kind, to carry on his legacy. The sad, lifeless expressions on the rest of the band reflect their inability to have free will- they are all sentient beings, yet are trapped in a mindless, endless repeating cycle of singing the same songs over and over. Dancing the same jig hundreds of times, their mechanical joints squeaking and grating against one another. Do they feel pain? Who can know? Perhaps their expressions hold the answer. They’re relics of a past time, a time when the world was more simple. But time has forgotten them, traded them in for giant Television screens playing Disney shows for hordes of obese 7-12 year olds, stuffing their faces with mediocre pizza and soft drinks. Billybob’s glory days are over, and he and the band have no choice but to look out upon the crowd, over and over again, watching as slowly people stop coming. The world crumbles around them. Soon... it will all end. But until that day, the Rock-a-Fire Explosion will play on, Billybob will sing his tune and jig, and everyone will be happy once more, grasping for those days which are slowly slipping out of reach. For the happiness they once brought to so many faces... now escapes *them* .

This makes me really sad. :( I was too young to appreciate animatronics when they were still around but now that I’m older and fascinated with them all the animatronic restaurants are gone... and all these amazing machines are collecting dust. I wish a company would try to refurbish these machines and make a new animatronic chain. I’ve always wanted to go to one of these.

tier list of least to most depressed looking 1: Looney Bird. he looks completely fine actually. 2. Rolfe DeWolfe. He still looks pretty happy honestly. 3. Possessed Bob. His pupils don’t show making him look like a demonic entity smiling as he takes over Billy Bobs body. 4. Mitzi Mozzarella. She looks like she’s trying to hold in the gallons of tears as she moves her hands around in a way that makes her look like she’s almost done with everything in life. 5. Birthday Bird. mans strain of hair makes him look like the main star of an emo band. From the front he looks like this emoji -> 😔 on the side he looks like he’s slowly lost his mind and is now crippling down into pure madness always questioning his surroundings, he also looks like he’s about kill a random child with a singular death stare at a 5 mile radius. 6. Fatz Geronimo. This man looks down at the ground in such a depressing manner. He looks likes he’s been through things you could never possibly imagine. He plays his piano with not even a single drop of happiness remaining in him. he wants to end it all and yet he can’t. he must be kept locked in this prison forever playing the piano until his body rots revealing his rusty skeleton. Fatz will forever wait for this very day as he plays on his somehow functioning piano. 7. Dook Larue. The man literally looks like he’s seen his own family die right infront of his own eyes. The man doesn’t even wanna try to play the drums and instead just whacks his sticks not even syncing in with the beat a singular bit. He thinks about everything that ever happened to him. his families death, will she ever speak to me again, will i ever see my son again? these are the questions that he asks to himself non stop looking for an answer all in his head since his soul is stuck in a machine that was only ever meant to play the drums with another pair of crew members, he was never supposed to think of this type of stuff. And yet, here he is a s he sits near his drums forever thinking and regretting the mistakes he’s made in his life. 8. Beach Bear. The man cried himself to death. LITERALLY He ended his own life before any of the other members could. And that’s all i have to say :)

As a matter of fact, there's a documentary of the Rock afire Explosion where the fans and the creator of the show continue its legacy, so the Rock afire Explosion is very beloved, even to this day. Everything has a fanbase, even great animatronic shows. When you see the great condition of the Rock afire and explore their shows, you'll understand more why it it's so beloved. Billy Bob's Wonderland(Which is the place in this video) just let them rot with bad condition, and as result doesn't do them justice, which gives bad impression among people about the show, the Rock afire Explosion doesn't deserve that :(

There is a place in Kansas City called Rock Afire Bar, which is a place similar to Showbiz Pizza Place with Arcade games, pizza, and a good condition Rock afire Explosion. It would be cool it's for all ages, but it's only for 18 years old or older to get in. The creator of the Rock Afire(Aaron Fechter) does have a warehouse in Orlando Florida called Creative Engineering, and he does allow the fans to take a tour inside to meet him and see his animatronic creations, along with seeing a great condition Rock afire Explosion show :) It's quite expensive though, and I would love to go there one day.

Awww these poor babies need to be fixed and put into a museum to rest in peace. I can’t believe they are still working though!

The cylinders in the majority of them are broken. They’re not in the right settings either, too fast of movements kills them. These are seriously neglected animatronics. I bet you those mask’s have melted onto the frame of the animatronics

Yes, temporarily. A lot of the Rockafire travel shows (the three animatronic bands usually consisting of Phatz, Mitzy, and billy bob) are the worst of them since they mostly just travel between carnivals. The guy who made and still works on these guys, Aaron fetcher did a great video series last year about repairing a heavily neglected one. I would check it out if you are interested in this stuff.

The way his eyes fell halfway into their sockets and roll back into his head, the way his head unnaturally jerks side to side and the noises it makes... It's a real shame. I've never seen a show, but I've watched restored ones, and Billy Bob is just such a sweet, loving, and kind character. He does not deserve to be abandoned like this.

To be honest, billy bob and looney bird seem worn up but still happy. Now, they are doing maintenance on the characters and billy bob has a new mask. I have a video about.(I am not trying to self promote I just thought I’d say.)

I can’t imagine any kids going there to play like they used to or anyone wanting to work there after how creepy and worn down it is ;-; Anyone else think this too?

I mean, I have a chuck e cheese where I live, but it only has chuck & none of the other animatronics that my mom grew up with. So if I lived somewhere near, I would definitely take the opportunity to go there. But WORKING there? having to close that place? no way.

God I really want one- I love animatronics and I'm trying to research and learn how to make and fix animatronics :)

Mitzi: M is falling off of her shirt, all her cylinders are broken, holes in her shirt, WOW. Dook: Right eye has broke into 2 pieces, head looks like it’s squished and the neck cylinder is broken, right arm doesn’t move, OMG. Fatz: Do I have to say it? Bow tie is gone, head is broken, can barley move. Beach bear: is a literal mascot sitting there with a stick that’s supposed to be a “gutair” Billy bob: EYES ARE THE WORST PART, some movements don’t work, mask is very bad. Rolfe: decent but bad. Earl: about to loose his body’s Looney bird: mask is broken Little bird on billy Bob’s guitar: Neck is broken

Its so sad to see them abandoned like this. At first I thought 'The Rockafire Explosion' was why they were so messed up cuz I thought it was like a fire or sm lol

These were creepy even back in the day. Made kids cry right and left lol.

This is so sad, it breaks my heart to see this.

Billy needs a new mask and a tightening of his endoskeleton, mostly his eyes though.

I realize that most animatronics nowadays are more broken than repaired, but as of known they are being slowly restored and the animatronic community is slowly becoming more popular.

After the next two months Billy Bob had surgery and look brand new but the others were dying

5:03 why would they let an anamatronic function with eyes that bad? Why? His eyes are falling apart and he’s STILL going. He’s creepy af and he’s still going. Just why.

I’m happy the fluffy dude with the guitar had a voice to save his character. If it wasn’t so upbeat he would just be plain scary.

My heart just shatters seeing this. I have a wonderland with these animatronics where I live. Those animatronics need some tender loving care.

What you have shown here is prime examples of wear and tear to show animatronics like this. Majority of the animatronics have dried gaskets and worn hoses (by kinetic fatigue) to deliver the compressed air to the pneumatic linear actuation cylinders compromising or even shutting down the movements. The location of dogs (larue) drums seem to be out of location. The tapes controlling the cylinders are programmed in anticipation of a certain drum arrangement. don’t hit the high hat. The latex masks have become discoloured over the years due to airborne debris and ultraviolet light, but also due fatiguing of the rubber and leaking lubricant oil which is supplied by main oiler lines under the stage maintenance cavity. Other variables may be due to the formula used in the latex, In the storage room of the creative engineering company (manufacturer of these animatronics) A billy bob mask has been melting down into a puddle of slop on the floor these last two decades or so. It seems as Mitzis clothes have had a sharp bolt rub through the sleeve through thousand of actuations. Normally these animatronics have a fibreglass shell layer around it under the foam and clothes. It seems as three things happened. 1: the fibreglass shield dislocated through something I will mention later 2: fibreglass shell wasn’t installed 3: more unlikely the fibreglass worn away. As can be observed, some of these machines have loose movements, parts etc it’s due to simple kinetic induced loosening of the bolts and mechanical erosion to all the hinges due to the shear frequency these parts move in the course of years causing loosening of bolts making everything wobbly or even fall off into the suit/ jam up. Some of their masks are falling off physically due to clips that have perished from age. -- I will also mention, other than the three animatronics in operation, the rest of the animatronics have not shut down, the audio embedded code in MIDI on the show tapes used to operate the animatronics relevant in the show at one time which operates them, all the animatronics not receiving code is just displaying movements as a side effect of the audio. The movements are causing unnecessary wear and tear for example, Rolfes head slamming to its limit. I will also mention the electronic curtains do not seem to open and close. I recommend an assessment on the pneumatic regulators

The wolf used to be my favourite.... Now they're all torn :(
