When the Toronto Maple Leafs announced the Newfoundland Growlers as their ECHL affiliate it brought hope for the hockey crazed province. If opening night was any indication, the Growlers could become a mainstay in St. John's.

I'm happy that Canada has their 2nd ECHL team. And I'm happy that they're the affiliate to the Maple Leafs! Go Leafs! Go Marlies! Go Growlers!
