This dramatization was fantastic,I was glued.
I really didn't expect a documentary to be this good. The way they fit multiple inventions and human development in a single chapter with compelling story and continuation to the next chapters is just captivating.

Yes, it does- and yet ppl need to see intention- it makes sense to them- and it gives them someone to blame when the system fails, or they perceive it has done them some injustice. The truth is that real honest to god conspiracies are very rare- it's usually just a bunch of individuals, each pursuing their own private interests, having a collective, net effect that just so happen to oppress or harm others.

Read the book 'Human Swarm' Interesting look at how our ancestors influence us today. Written by an expert on ants he noticed the extreme similarities in our behavior and started researching the evolution of human behavior.
This is a fun doc, so fast paced, which is great - it keeps me riveted.
Riveting, educational, superbly showing the birth of mankind in an absorbing way. Well done, invites our interest, makes us yearn for a "Part 2".

This almost made me cry. It showed how we had to get through hardships, injustices, and diseases , it also showed we did it only through love and brotherhood. Sending my love and warm hugs to all of you from the Southern Caucasus, we all share the same biology regardless to our geology

Unfortunatelly, war for resources driven by tribalism is continued on state levels in these days. Wars are part of us and I am not sure humans will ever transcend them. I think in the future we just split and find habitats on different planets and the history will repeat. War over resources, dominance and power. As long as the victor takes all. Very appealing to human psychology. Chimps, lions, etc... all spieces are the same... doing the same, if they can...

Awesome movie! I didn’t think I’d watch it to the end, but once I started, I couldn’t stop. Thanks to films like this, I believe that humanity is not hopeless. 🥲
Extremely well presented! Most of us watching these types of programs know the basic progression of civilization, including agriculture, animal husbandry, the contribution of cats and dogs that caused them to become domesticated, the switch from nomadic lifestyles to communities and then cities, the beginning of writing in Mesopotamia, the rise of craft and trades, formation of governments, etc. But this method of presentation was delightful. Thank you for creating this enjoyable and educational form of documentary. I would like to see these kinds of programs used to educate school children about the history of Homo sapiens.

Except that progression is no longer accepted as facts. There were many starts and stops, half domestication, and even some rejection of new ways of living. Gobli Tepe and other older sites have put question marks on how linear the social transformations.

@@n.d.m.515OK, we know some bits and pieces from our past and based on them someone created this film. It does not mean that it accurately represents actual course of our history. There are a lot of different theories often contradicting each other and new discoveries often muddy the picture rather than making it clearer, but that is not taking away anything from this video. I truly enjoyed it, it made my daily exercise routine to go much faster...🙂

FANTASTIC!!!! - I take it to be a rough version of actual events as nobody can really know what truly happened (until we invent time-travel) but this is an absolute joy to watch!

I saw this on PBS when it 1st came out years ago and have been looking for it ever since but never knew the name of it. For some reason my favorite was the beginning between the nomads and the settlers. 2 worlds that at 1st were a odds but formed a friendship and showed the hardship from both ends but again showed the care that the nomad leader had for him newborn child knowing that he and his people couldn't care for the baby and left them with their hosts along with one of the dogs as a gift/thankyou. Which even in ancient cultures is a great honor given how much work went into training the dogs
Much more interesting than I had expected, and got much better the longer I watched it!

starts with a fairytale, however. War, killing the 'other' and protecting resources has always been part of our history, no matter how far back one wishes to go. A very nicely done though.

Авторы фильма прогуляли все лекции Дробышевского. 12 тысяч лет назад еще не было белых людей, а фильм начинается с группы явно белых людей. Эпик фейл. И это я посмотрел всего первые три минуты фильма, то ли еще будет, лол.

До наших дней это уже надо углубляться в историю современности. Вряд ли создатели фильма ставили перед собой такую. Фильм отличный получился. Я бы его назвал художественно-документальным, от появления производящего хозяйства, до письменности. А с письменностью появились летописи и прочие писания. Дальше уже историческую литературу читать или смотреть документалки по теме истории.

Bardzo, bardzo logicznie przedstawiony obraz Naszego rozwoju, acz jedynie juz w jakis sposob uksztaltowanego czlowieka. Wszak z przyjemnoscia obejrzalem caly film, brawo i dziekuje. Dodam juz tylko, iz wciaz poszukuje filmu mowiacego wogole o powstaniu czlowieka. Bowiem tak wiele jest teorii w tym wzgledzie, a jakze czesto wykluczajacych sie, ze doprawdy trudno sie w tym polapac.

@@urpasternak Poczytaj sobie Biblię. Wszak Kain zabił Abla. A Bóg stwarzając świat i ludzi dał nam też wolną wolę. I jeszcze taki drobiazg, powiedział czyńcie sobie ziemię poddaną. Więc dał nam ogromny zakres wolności w decydowaniu o sobie. Czyli dał nam tu na ziemi pewien zakres Boskiej sprawczości. Co z nią nasi prarodzice zrobili? Złamali układ. Sięgnęli po ten przysłowiowy owoc zakazany. I stąd zaczęły się nasze problemy. Sami sobie to zgotowaliśmy. Dwa tysiące lat temu , w Betlejem, Bóg ponownie podał nam rękę. Teraz część opinii publicznej to neguje. Twierdzi że to są bajki. Ok. To jest jej wolna wola którą dał nam Bóg. Wszystko rozstrzygnie się po naszej śmierci na sądzie ostatecznym. Tam nie będzie żadnych kruczków prawnych.
