The Story of the Last Man Battalion
New York... the home of Wall Street... the home of the largest and most prestigious stock
market in the world.
In the early days of the outbreak, the large Wall street companies wanted to ensure their assets remain protected.
They could see the situation quickly escalating, and predicted that the government wasn't going to be able to keep the peace for long.
So they brought in some outside help to defend their various corporate interests, and this is where we're introduced to the Last Man Battalion.

  • @user-Jay178

    The LMB had good intentions with iron fist rule, even if it was cruel and a few members were good like the one from the books, those that join the JTF and trying to stop the cleaner bomb train, but then after their many defeats and Bliss death they broke apart and many saw the black tusk as what Bliss dream and saw it as the only way yo save The US. I feel bad for them and love your content. Great video NGN love both your division and other content.

    It almost makes you wonder how much they could’ve done together if Bliss was approached by the black tusk when the LMB were in their prime. Yeah they would’ve showed their hand too early but New York would’ve been theirs for the taking with their combined resources.

    Imagine if the black tusk reached out to the LMB in their prime: With Bliss’ experience and knowledge of the region, as well as their combined resources, they could’ve easily taken control of the city and perhaps even turn it into a forward operating base. Plus, Schaffer probably would’ve worked better with Bliss than he did with the rogue agents; I mean, who would you rather work with? A man who’s head strong but loyal to his country and the men under his command, or wraith?

  • @randomcenturion7264

    @randomcenturion7264

    2 жыл бұрын

    Schaeffer would've probably seen Bliss as a fellow patriot who shared his vision, just didn't have the same means which he would gladly provide. And yeah, I'd rather a loyal, capable and gutsy man like Bliss that the Rejects Lau handed him. Wraith was a waste of resources. For what? The Hyenas? They're little more than slightly deadlier Rioters. Also, funny how, the LMB were still worth reaching out to even after Bliss died and their forces were decimated, but they never bothered with the True Sons once, despite the fact that they could have. I guess Ridgeway really was just an uppity bully to Black Tusk, whereas the L.M.B had a vision and purpose.

  • @matthiasneidenberger9471

    @matthiasneidenberger9471

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@randomcenturion7264 Yeah, the True Sons are definitely hot headed and less skilled compared to your average LMB soldier, but I really don’t see why they didn’t reach out to them either. Surely Ridgeway would’ve worked with them if they offered them material support. The LMB, True Sons and Black Tusk may not see eye-to-eye on everything, but they all believe in the idea of having a strong arm to help bring the US back under control, even at the expense of its ideals, so I don’t understand why they would want the Division to wipe either of them out, especially if they were going to try and enlist them afterwards anyway.

  • @randomcenturion7264

    @randomcenturion7264

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@matthiasneidenberger9471 I think it all comes down to discipline and vision. The True Sons just didn't make the cut. L.M.B, despite being tyrannical, ruled with a sense of purpose. The T.S never really "Built" anything that impressed the Black Tusk. They operated more like mutineers high off their own power-trip then people you could rely on in the Long Run to build a New Order. Sure, the True Sons say they want a strong arm to bring America back, but even without The Division, if you compare how they tackled the Hyenas and Outcasts (two problems they were indirectly and directly responsible for respectively) to how the L.M.B kicked the crap out of the Rikers and Cleaners, it's clear one proves themselves useful in a stand up fight, the other is too used to beating up civilians to have a place beyond a disposable asset. I guess the bottom line is, Black Tusk is playing to win and, kind of like Caesar in New Vegas, are playing for the Long Game. Same way Caesar new even if he allied himself with the Brotherhood of Steel today, down the line, opposing ideals would make them a problem. The L.M.B were both capable and willing to be absorbed into Black Tusk. The True Sons were lacking in the strength department, even having deserters in their ranks as shown in some ECHO execution scenes, as opposed to the L.M.B's near fanatical devotion to Bliss even after his death. And if they reached out to Ridgeway, who unlike Bliss was so up his own his he "Promoted Himself" to General and went rogue for a far less understandable and even noble reason than Bliss did. The L.M.B were the Black Tusk's little brother they never even knew they had and the True Sons were and probably still are, mooks they either rough up themselves or put in the firing line of their enemies.

  • @matthiasneidenberger9471

    @matthiasneidenberger9471

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@randomcenturion7264 that is a good point. I do sometimes forget how stupid the True Sons were in the grand scheme of things. They basically devolved into arrogant bullies after taking control. And now that I think about it, they did execute a messenger for merely suggesting they have a mutual agreement that didn’t involve the True Sons ruling them without any scruples, so I doubt they would’ve worked with the Black Tusk even if they did offer their assistance. And I do also believe even if they did work together, the LMB would definitely would look down on them. I mean the LMB are on a totally on a different level to the True Sons and they would make short work of them should they try something. Then there’s the fact that the True Sons could’ve barricaded themselves and let the other factions kill each other, but Ridgeway’s pride had him send out more men to get killed and waste resources; Bliss would never waste men and resources like that if given the option. So yeah, the LMB would look a lot more attractive, especially to Schaffer who wanted to be more strategic with their resources. I’ll be honest, I forget sometimes how much the True Sons were idiots of you think about it: Their main advantage was their numbers and the fact that they were the best trained of the other factions in DC-but that’s not saying much- and the fact they had access to military equipment. So yeah, I see what you mean. The LMB would be the best long-term horse to bet on (but that’s kind of a given), and no doubt, Ridgeway couldn’t match Bliss in discipline and tactics. So I may just have to retract my last statement: the Black Tusk working with the True Sons wouldn’t be either possible or advantageous, even if they got rid of Ridgeway and balanced them out with Bliss’ men.

She was activated during the first wave and knows why her brother is doing this but she doesn't agree with his methods of coping, She wanted to help people who were suffering from it. Not killing those responsible for it. It took a lot for her to ultimately kill her brother but in the end there was no saving him although she thinks that there was one that she didn't see. As of right now she's a good friend to Alani Kelso and fully believes in what Lau is doing involving turning Rogue and giving Brandon Schaefer to them.

    The Year 5 Roadmap shows us going back to NYC. At any time that could make a story where the LMB has been discreetly operating and rebuilding underground. Bliss faked his death by never being in that helicopter; Their outfits and tech are war-torn, and they're a combination of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Legendary soldiers. Either Division agents are ambushed by them or a civilian witnesses LMB and tells the SHD so we are sent out there to fight them. Only to find out they're more powerful than ever. A story like that could totally pass and it'd be great content.

    Now that I've just finished the UN mission I can finally start watching some of these and have them make sense! Obviously a lot here, and it's an interesting story of how the LMB basically got shafted and left in an extremely difficult situation. While I don't know that I agree that the action they took was the right one, in many ways it's actually not that different to the way Division agents act. Desperate times. Desperate measures. Many of the first wave agents took things into their own hands because they didn't feel as though they were being supported. Were they right? We call them rogue. But for at least some it seemed like a choice to save people. Even the echo of Keener trying to defend a group of people and being told to pull out and leave them seems to go against the goals of the organization. Obviously he used those actions to justify a megalomaniacal response, but the initial frustration might have been something anyone did. Same with the LMB. It almost makes you wonder at times whether we really are the good guys because, from some perspectives, we take just as extreme actions. I mean we get combat distinctions for killing thousands of rioters, Rikers, Cleaners, and LMB. Yay?? Certainly Faye thought she had to take a very unorthodox approach. Was she really loyal? Or was she just another rogue agent taking matters into their own hands? It's a tough question because who really is running the Division in the broader sense? We're trying to rebuild America. But taking some very extreme approaches at times. Definitely something to ponder.

    I love your videos with facts and theories. I have one for you and I would love to hear your thoughts on it: What if Hitman (2016 series) and Ghost Recon (Wildlands & Breakpoint) are set in the same universe? I speculate Diana Burnwood and Karen Bowman are the same person. They are both voiced by the same actress. Their jobs are basically the same - espionage - collate intel from around the world and provide target information to an assassin (Agent 47) or to a squad (Ghost Team). We know the name 'Karen' is an alias. We have heard Sam Fisher call her 'Linda'. Maybe 'Diana' is also an alias. Diana and Karen may look a little different but maybe she is a master of disguise. Finally, In GR:Wildlands mission Operation Archangel, when Ghost Team is searching for Caveira's brother in an apartment, we see a suit very similar to what Hitman wears. This is an easter egg but it only adds fuel this speculation.

    I know it would never happen but it would be cool if a small force of former members of the last man battalion that were recruited into the black tusk reformed the last man battalion and teamed up with the division and fought for the a better cause this time. The last man battalion was awesome in the division 1 they actually put up a fight and they looked like a force not to be messing with

    thinking about it the LMB were actually not that bad all things considered, if violence and lawlessness took hold of the city then the infrastructure would collapse, power generation, water treatment, emergency services, law enforcement, food supply, antiviral research, etc. would all just go down the toilet, the JTF was losing control fast and nothing was keeping the other factions from destroying the vital infrastructures that remain in newyork. if it wasnt for the LMB i doubt that newyork would survive the winter, things in DC are only better now because the JTF got their sheet together and started running convoys between major cities from DC to cleveland, allentown, Philadelphia, and then to newyork, without those supplies the Base of Operations in Midtowns Post Office wouldn't survive, but without power and running water, they wouldn't even make it long enough to see those supplies. the LMB were very draconian, but if you think about it so was the Strategic Homeland Division, the presidential directive 51 which activated them if read carefully sounded very "all or nothing" and "at any cost" to save what remains. maybe charles bliss was right about not trusting us, we were after all unquantifiable elements with mixed intentions, full of security risks and turncoats, and were rigged from the start to collapse, but only didn't because the 2nd wave was more successful than the 1st wave. entrusting the future to an unpredictable organization would under any other circumstances would be ill advised especially if you're an ex-military that doesn't agree with the top leadership, since division agents essentially had the same level of authority as the minister of defense, it would be about as high up the leadership as anyone can get before the president, overruling anything that any other executive or politician (still alive) could muster.

    I really liked the LMB so much that I made a fan faction where it's just the LMB but in the dark zone... central park to be exact... Basically the story for those guys are, one guy "The Wolf" was one of the first to turn to the Lmb due to his relationship with bliss and would turn rogue when things started to become sour, didn't like the extremist group of rogues in the lmb that he didn't join it (Keener's old group) During the UN battle, The Wolf could have killed Keener but went off lucky, knowing it was the end of the lmb, after the battle. He gathered all he could (supplies, men and robotics) and went to the dark zone starting the DZB Instead of going to known areas where agents normally go through, they moved into central park due to how dangerous the virus was there (risk of infection) I kinda didn't have DZB do too much, The Wolf had made a operation plan where they use the subways to attack Division HQ and cause a mass EMP on the roof of the building making the agents skills useless. But that plan is too costly that they are still working on recovery, hell when Black Tusk went by assuming that there LMB still, DZB said no for the offer. They where to use the subways to also spread around the city like wildfire. That is about what I would do if the creators wanted the LMB to be still around but not quite

    I reckon they most likely joined Black Tusk, after all Black Tusk is essentially a more advanced version of the real world, Blackwater. So most likely those teams would get hired by the pmc, its essentially acting like a black ops pmc group, for the spec ops, they most likely became JTF instructors or security but in game JTF acts more like civilians than military, they seem out of their depth & untrained @@AlGhulkazim

    I admire the LMB, they A game was on point, bliss if he would of just held to his guns and followed what he laid out, the LMB could of helped so much and done so much good, the JFT brass would of seen this and then worked with them, maybe even forming officially with the JFT and using that knowledge and man power to continue doing good and moving forward, but the game gives us no real hope in this outcome, always a souring point for storylines, ubi soured my stomach on the storyline because they decided to continue pushing this LMB BAD, bs.

    The playable Division Agents in both games are a literal miracle life saving crutch for the JTF, they're already shown to be extremely incompetent and poorly lead. Goobisoft should've let players decide who'd they would want to fight for in the campaign instead of simping for a basically dead arm of the federal and state government.
