In recent memory, many footballers have flocked to leagues such as the MLS and Saudi Pro league to get a large pay cheque before retiring. But all the way back in the 1950s, it was Colombia that many players were flooding to. Due to the Colombian football association breaking away from FIFA, they were not legally required to pay transfer fees for players. For a few years the league had several stars, and although it would come to an end, it was considered a golden era for Colombian football.

I've never heard of this League before.
Great job covering the now defunct league. Totally agree that it set their country's footballing future back by decades due to lack of internal investment. Great job Finners.

I agree with the Colombian league but you need to understand about how the Saudi Pro League is building instead of just saying that the league is more of only buying the superstar and more of a retirement league,good friend AFC Finners!!!🏋♂️

If the Saudi League do invest and develop their own talent long term that’s fair, it’s just with the whole Henderson saga it seems it may Peter out very quickly
