That is an amazing pair of boxes there Richard, I could not look away while watching this. It makes me very happy to see them have a home with you, because you clearly treasure everything about them. Thank you for sharing! Cheers- Dean

Really, really nice presentation of the Paramount Records box sets. Those ads and books are something else! I've been wanting to read the Paramount Records story but that book is out of print. Enjoyed this tremendously, Richard. Thank you. ~ Nicola

Absolutely beautiful! Bet it cost a nice penny, but worth it for the historical preservation!

I have to find a way to get my hands on these two sets. Absolutely incredible sets with a ton of early recorded music. I am a self described music nut so this kind of thing is up my alley. I know this video is older but thanks for sharing these sets with us Richard!

Yessir, they do! I was on the website right after the video lol I'm hoping to pick these up in the next couple of months (fingers crossed). Are you still satisfied with these sets? This is a super cool project that Jack White did, I hope he continues to do awesome projects like these that preserve American music! Peace!

@@richardriley4415 Well I'm glad to hear that the sets are still serving you well sir. The only thing that makes me nervous is you said that the records are pressed by United, they seem to have a seedy reputation on their pressings. This seems to be worth the price of admission. Thank you again, especially for taking the time to respond, have a wonderful week!

Wow! And I thought Vol. 1 was awesome and then you whipped out Vol. 2. Now, I am not big into music from the 20's but what's in that box is some of the exceptions to the rule. Nicely done Richard. I haven't seen anyone feature either one of those box sets. The grammy for packaging had to have gone to this set. How much more could you ask for?

Hey Rich I was at the museum of modern art last year and snapped a pic of the actual turntable that he copied for the aluminum boxset . Send me a text if you'd like to see it. Very cool sets , tons of music ! Hopefully United did a good job on pressing them. Take care.

I would like to see the pics. email is better. I think the mp3 files are better than the records and of course the majority of tunes are not on the records anyway.

Hi Richard another great video really interesting, I had to go with the 4 cd version The Paramount Masters Box set which is quite reasonably priced (but no were near as nice as your 2 box sets of course). Once I saw it had a couple of Geechie Wiley tracks on them I had to have it, pick poor robin clean is one of my favourites, but unfortunately last kind words is not on the CD set. Sorry I am rambling......, just wanted to thank you for reminding me about this great early music.

Rhiannon Giddeons did Last Kind Words blues on her album of about 2 or 3 years ago. I think I picked it as the record of the year 3 years ago.

Thanks, 3 years _is_ a long time. I was a partner in this production. I would pay you to license this/embed it in my site. I’m not a bot. World of anArchie. I’m dying to know if the metal screws still work. Did you look in every sleeve in the lp section? That’s where the posters should be.

I clicked on this to get the history of a record label that was still operating well into the 1970s. All I got was a cheap plug for a record collection.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Paramount went out of business around 1933. Anything after that was other people who owned the name. The book that comes with Vol.1 covers their history. This video was not meant for beginners to the subject.

@@richardriley4415 The video deserved its *thumbs-down* as it was nothing but a shameless plug, and its title was misleading.
