The rise and fall of the Mongol Empire - Anne F. Broadbridge

Trace the rise and fall of the Mongol Empire which, under the leadership of Genghis Khan, became the largest contiguous land empire in history.
--
It was the largest contiguous land empire in history- stretching from Korea to Ukraine, and from Siberia to southern China. And was forged on the open plains. In the 12th century, the East Asian steppe was home to scattered groups of nomads who, by 1206, would be united under the innovative leadership of a man named Temujin. Anne F. Broadbridge details the rise and fall of the Mongol Empire.

If she wasn't already pregnant she would have rode a horse, it'd be more useful in escaping.

After centuries of misinformation and false rumours, we finally have the closest story to the truth. Even then false or exaggerated info can blur the great story. In this uncertain times, brilliant orginisations and amazing creators such as these people should be praised and recognised more and more. As a mongolian who is proud of his country's history and ancestors, i am beyond satisfied with this animation and narrative. All the facts and pronounciations were spot on, and the animation itself was perfectly suitable for these kind of edutainment videos. I wish i could shake the hands of people who made this video. From the bottom of my heart, i thank all you amazing people. Keep up the awesome work!

I am not even closely related to Mongolian people, nor close by location, but I always admired its history (and its ruler's), even if some of it is forever lost, but the misinformation is so silly, it made me sad. This short video made more justice to Mongolia and its history than years of study with some teachers (there are exceptions of course). So cheers to you @Badar and awesome job TED-Ed!

I love how she narrated the story. Superb storytelling skills. Not to mention the animation and the lesson content itself.

The spelling emperor is wrong because it comes from the Latin word Imperator. See how your point is faulty, it’s like saying Julius Caesar pronouncing it seesar is wrong because in Latin it sounded more like Gulius Kaiser

Moskwa(Moscow) is a word derived from Mongolian word Mushiga which means Twisted in English. The reason behind the name was the Moskwa river itself. It is very twisted long lake runs through Moscow.

Excellently done. I teach World History, and I fear that the soft-spoken tone of the video may cause some of my students to lose interest. But the writing and artistry of the video is simply superb.
