Knowing Gary Bettman, who's inexplicably obsessed with this team, the Coyotes will come back to the NHL in 4 or 5 years. What's even worse, they'll rig things so that Arizona become instant Cup contenders like Vegas was in their first season. One thing they'll obviously do is sign hometown hero Auston Matthews and rig the expansion draft to get experienced players in their prime to build around him.

I moved to Phx in 1996 from Boston. To this day I am still a Bruins Fan first despite being a coyotes season ticket holder from about 1998 to sometime when Gretzky was running the team. HIm and Ellman....I loathe Wayne Gretzky. An arena that was Ellmans vanity project....bad drafting....and an utter failure of a team. leaf games here were loaded with fans.....they all lived here. bruins games...hawks....habs, calgary, Edmonton....all the snowbirds went to those. the customers were always here. the fans were always here. everybody here is from somewhere else...lots of snowbirds all they had to do was one thing Win and they failed miserably at that. Some of us tried to stick it out... But in the end a 1 hour drive to the west side and a crap on ice product doomed this team.

I'm a boston fan that was born in 2003 and so, never had to worry about "relocation" because of how loyal the fans can get (for better and worse). So hearing that at one point one of my beloved Pats were originally going to be relocated to St. Louis before Robert Kraft's takeover was crazy to see. I wouldn't imagine how Pats fans in around New England would've feel if their favorite team moved away from their home in some twisted alternative timeline. Sad to see any team being forced to move to another place far from their home and hearing how heartbroken the fans must've felt when they lost a team they'd loved since they were children... Even with the clownshow that went on throughout the Yotes' time that their fans are the most loyal and caring even with all the heartbreak & horrid showing that they had to endure (although you could say that for any team that has sucked throughout their history recent or well, historically). Bye Arizona Yotes. You deserved better owners.

I’m in Pittsburgh and haven’t had to really worry about relocation as well but I wouldn’t be upset if the pirates one day left it would make summers a lot less stressful and actually enjoy other things. People here go to the Pirates games for entertainment but still buy all kinds of merch especially the women and girls here. The People of Pittsburgh enable nutting to keep his current mentality and culture of operation of the pirates which is not really caring about the team 100%. People here also go for the Fireworks nights as well. People here need to take a stand and stop giving nutting there money until he shows he can win or sell the team. Nutting needs to sell the Pirates in the near future. I’m not going to another game until he sells the team.

As a native Zonie and coyotes fan since my college roommate got me into hockey around 2007, I’m crushed by the yotes’ relocation. I also understand the NHL’s decision and feel that they had reached a breaking point with this franchise. Your synopsis really illuminates what a disaster the business/financial side of the coyotes was for a long time, and AZ localities’ reactions to the team should be understood in relation to this, not a supposed lack of fans. As your clips show, yotes fans came out in droves when the team was competitive. In a conveniently located and state of the art NHL-level facility and with competent ownership, I have no doubt that they could succeed in the Phoenix market. It sucks that they were never really given a fair chance to succeed. I’m also skeptical of Meruelo’s ability to build the new barn. He’s burned so many bridges and now looks to be going about his effort through bribery and arm-twisting rather than building constructive relationships. It’s sad and as much as I want the coyotes back, a return under those conditions would simply be a return to all the problems of coyotes 1.0. For now, I will continue to wear my tear-stained kachina jersey and keep the faith. #hockeybelongsinthedesert #buildthebarn

It sucks the Coyotes r no more!? I was never a real fan of team but i didnt dislike em either!? Im a Bruins fan!..Actually i loved their original jerseys and logo tho and even got a Phoenix Coyotes jersey shortly after they became the Phoenix Coyotes, i was 10 i think and had recently started playing youth hockey, i loved their original logo and jeseys tho and was never a fan of when they changed the logo and i was stoked when they finally went back to original logo and jerseys!!? I hope they can figure something out and bring Coyotes back sometime soon but who knows!? Guess we'll see if anything ever happens!?

Glendale is awful because most of the valley lives east of it and no one wants to drive that way multiple times a week. It works for the Cardinals since they are one time a week but not something that is every few days.

You can lame AM, but I think Gary Bettman should bear a huge part of the blame. He never did a good job of vetting ownerships. The NHL on the team for over four seasons, and I knew with the challenges in Glendale were. I think theycould’ve made it work in Glendale. I always hear about it was too far of a drive from Chandler and Scottsdale, but their cities back east their fan base are over 50 miles away from their arena and not using public transportation either.

You start the video with the presupposition that Bettman was out the gate intend to move the team. He wasn’t. A little research shows that in a no salary cap era nearly all the Canadian market teams were threatened with moving.

Notta damn thing where quebec has done everything possible to get the Nordiques reborn.

Delta only has 12,000 uninterrupted views for hockey as the angling of the upper seats cut off the view to about the nearest goalline. Not great! Since the team will also play first year in a plan jersey without a name, or logo, and without any merchandise also not a good start. The fact is this relocation is rushed and should not exist. The team should be dissolved into all the other NHL teams and an expansion team should be granted to Utah once they have plans in for a proper NHL ready rink gets greenlighted. And Arizona get back a team once they have a ready to play in NHL arena ready within the five years. To build a new NHL/ NBA pro arena it takes a minimum of 3 years from the ground breaking. So that means at least 4 seasons at the Delta Center sharing the Jazz's facilities with NBA players. Not good for them either! This is a rushed relocation and could leave Ryan Smith having to sell the team if he has any building hangups that pushes his arena back over 5 years. That could mean if Ryan falls to get that new arena he may just sell the team back to Alex if Alex has his new arena ready first. Mean while in Quebec City a new NHL ready arena is serving the QMJHL team only. What happened to that ownership group?
