Not sure how you get there the man made boat loads of money off those shoes way more than he ever made off of reebok

I grew up 45 minutes from Orlando. Even after Shaq went to the Lakers, he would still come back to Orlando every christmas and give bikes and toys to underprivileged kids that he paid for himself. It would be on the local news. He could have easily stopped coming back and no one would have thought twice about it, but he cared about the community. Shaq is the real deal. Not gonna lie, I'd love to get a re-issued pair of some old school Shaq shoes.

That lady who confronted Shaq was a blessing in disguise and the rest was history. I wish some athletes would follow what he done for the society. Dr. Shaq is a really wise man.

But high cost isn't only about brands it also usually reflects qaulity. Any cheap pair of shoes I've had last me afew months but a higher priced pair can last years.

Black youth whether they can afford it or not do not want the cheap shoes with the shack name on them for $30 at walmart. They want the $200 version from the sports store whether the family can afford it or not. This is why things are the way they are in Black culture

What killed them? They were known by kids as the "Jordans at home" shoe (you can't afford Jordans so you got Shaq), they were sold at cheap stores like Payless and Walmart, which was stigmatizing to kids, and the materials began to be crappier. Look at how Starter, Fubu and And 1 are now vs originally.

True but I grew up poor and I loved them.

I had a few pairs of shaqs growing up. I never cared if kids clowned on me for wearing them cuz at the end of the day I was wearing an NBA players shoes and paid a fraction of the price. Plus they were built like takes. Those things took a hell of a beating and still held up for years. Much respect

Glad they were quality shoes. I've only bought one pair of shoes from Wal Mart. A Starter brand I used to mow the lawn, and they didn't even last a year before getting holes in them, wearing them once a week for 6 months a year.

Lol as kids we can be cruel, clowning someone else for wearing shoes bought at Wal-Mart or K-Mart.

An interesting tidbit he mentioned in his sneaker shopping episode is that Nike actually partially owned the Shaq brand for a brief stint when he first started it, and the designs from that era were the most direct "ripoffs" of Jordans. The use of the elephant print and Jordan-esque silhouettes in those original designs were actually completely allowed by Nike, and remained present in the line from that early era onward.

Im a big reebok fan and ive never heard of a shaq attack 5. They did retro the 1 and 4 in 2013 and 2014. I bought 5 pairs of shaq attack 4s still have 2 pairs left also have a cpl pairs of 1s. I highly agree they need to retro the 3s asap wouldnt mind a cpl colorways of the 2 as well

But only if they put in the original ultra hexalite. I hate that fake rubber hexalite they use today. Zero responsiveness.

They have so many gems it's it's shame they have decided to go cheap on their tech but on the plus side they do have great materials on alot of their models 😒

I love how he showed up to Nike HQ in the Reebok jacket. Boss move to keep the meeting AND rep your new brand.

i must wholehearted agree the Shaq 1 is a design MARVAL that really got me thinking as a kid in the 90's and yes i totally blame my unshakeable fasinashon whit footwear and design in general and art and technology OMG ......we had no internet back then and for me shoes wher the top of a rabbit warren im still a littel lost in. i mis good old pump's :)

They retroed the Shaqnosis in 20-4, I believe. I had bought them the day they rereleased and I sold them later on. I should have kept them because they aren't easy to find.

Shaq has quickly become one of my heroes in life. This man is humble and respectful, and he understands that he was lucky in life and he completely 180 his shoe brand because of a confrontation he had with a lady who just wanted to have a fordable shoes for her kids. This man should be given awards and his shoes should be hyped up everywhere so that they are considered cool so kids can wear them to school and not be made fun of.

Shaq was like the Incredible Hulk of the NBA his best sneakers is the Shaq Attaq and the Shaqnosis

I love Shaq! I'm proud to say I had a pair of his shoes! (The ones sold at Walmart). My Mom was a single Mom, and I'm glad that lady brought it to his attention, and thankful that he listened. 💞

Hopefully Shaq and Authentic Brands Group do more with Reebok than Adidas did. Just lost my employee discount on Reebok stuff right before I was going to buy some Reebok Pump sneakers though lol (used to work at Adidas)

As a kid i was our paperboy and i used my money to buy shoes, I had the original Shaq Attaq's in black and white, i ended up buying the black versions twice because i ruined my first pair in a creek. I loved the Shaq's though, they were super nice shoes.

There is one missed on this list. It's called the Shaq Trainer and came out between the Shaq Attaq 4 and Shaqnosis. He wore the white pair in the Finals against Houston for the home games, and the black 4s for the away games that series. They were worn shortly like the 2s. Thanks for the video. Shaq Reeboks are my favorite. Shaq Attaq I is the most beautiful shoe of all time.

A very underrated signature line

Dope video as always. Top 3 Shaq shoes: 1. Any Walmart Shaq 2. Reebok Shaq Attack 3. Any Walmart Shaq

I remember the first models of the Shaq shoes, the better model of the Attack was a $35--$40 shoe that was well built probably about $60--$65 today. I almost bought them or Middle school Basketball never did high school due to size, but I was a size 6.5--7 at the time so they were a bit small for my foot when the models only started at size 8, but my dad had a pair for a number of years to play on a rec Volleyball league, cool since he was a Lakers fan as I was. Later the first runs of cheap models would hurt your feet if you got them, and it was hard to find the better model that Shaq wore normally even in actual shoe stores or sports shoes as if the shoes were thought of as a joke since the few models Walmart and K-mart had would be gone right away. Now I see places like Shoe Sensation and other similar discount but not cheap like Big box stores selling the better Shaq lines for people who need a $50--$60 lower end basketball shoe, they can't afford a $130+ shoe that others have or even the lower. These are the people that they have to use low end Filla or other Cheap shoes like Athletetech Walmart brand that hurt the feet.

The Shaq attaqs 4 also were instapump with the hand gun… the manual pump was introduced when they re released the vintage line few years ago

Shaq's rebooks are fire on its own.His mindset on shoes and that of Marbury really change the climate of affordability.Lit content as always man, and you if you are still reading this , really consider SUBSCRIBING, seriously 🖤💥🖤

I got the Shaq Attaq 1 when I was in 4th grade, then the Shaq Attaq 5 in or around May of 1995 before the finals. It came with the cartridge pump. I remember my dad buying a package of 2 extras. Now I wish it did come with the hand pump, because I loved having the shoes air tight. Im glad the Shaqnosis dropped it, and that was my last Shaq shoe Edit: after watching further, I remember The Preacher being the end of the line for me and Shaq shoes. Those were uncomfortable for me.

Oh man... I was hypnotized by the Shaqnosis back in the 90s.

I've owned many collectable shoes. My favorite pair was Shaq's from a Payless. Why? Because when I got mine my dad bought the same pair for him! Shaq will always have a place in my collection

A few corrections The Magic didn't make the playoffs in Shaq's rookie season - they lost a tie breaker to Indiana and therefore were in the lottery again and picked penny The Shaq Attack 1 was still used in his 2nd season that kind of hampered the life of the 2 There was another Shoe in between the 4 and the Shaqnosis called the TWisM Shaq trainer that Shaq wore in the playoffs vs Boston it had a black upper and a white mid and sole. The nba banned it because of the uniform policy (which ironically MJ defied in the next round) The album was called Shaq Fu : Da return. Ima need you to get that one right

To also add to the Nike vs Reebok part, Shaq had meetings with both Nike and Reebok. He signed with Reebok and still went to the meeting with Nike...in all Reebok gear. It was reported the Nike CEO was salty LOL

I for one thoroughly enjoyed playing Shaq Fu. And you know what, I also enjoyed watching Kazaam! (I was like 8 though..)

The Shaq 4 did come with a c02 cartridge! I had it in the 10th grade

Aside from being one of the best players, Shaq has had some of the best designs when it comes to chunky basketball shoes. And the things he’s done with his affordable shoe line is, without a doubt, why he is such a great guy all around.
