Options are not suitable for all investors and carry significant risk. Certain complex options strategies carry additional risk. Options can be risky and are not suitable for all investors. See the Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options to learn more.
For each options transaction, Public Investing shares 50% of their order flow revenue as a rebate to help reduce your trading costs. Tinder isn't in the business of matching couples together, as they can't monetize a male that's in a relationship. The goal is to keep males encouraged enough to keep using their app and paying, while not actually finding them a partner.

    You will find that is the case with literally every single large industry when you look into it, and then you'll find out that it is designed to be this way. See pharma companies not treating you, but making you into a lifetime customer, and it goes on to every single industry. And then you should look into the criminal families like the sackers who purposefully do it not even for profit, but because they hate the population as they have dual loyalty and you'll find a very specific pattern.

    Talking to men, they hate that they experience a 99% rejection rate and it's difficult to deal with. Talking to women, they hate how they match so many men who act like they are the worst people in the world. Both phenomena make people lose hope in it. The entire system meanwhile has pushed so hard into profitability that the algorithm deliberately stops you matching people that you will actually date. Many couples who met seperately have jokingly tried to match on tinder etc. they bring up the apps, the men can see the women and the man's profile does not appear for the woman. Because Tinder wants to keep men on as long as possible so they will eventually pay.

    Looks are the least important thing about finding a mate. Take it from a 48 year old. Dating apps make looks the most important thing. More important factors than looks include but are not limited to: is this person an addict (food, hard drugs, prescription medication), does this person lie and how often, is this person racist or prejudiced against groups of people, is this person able to respond to a crisis without panicking, does this person steal, and does this person have sex with other people without telling you. Dating apps don't tell you anything about these. Thus they are completely useless, unless you are solely looking for a sexual encounter. Edit: Also, alcoholic is a deal breaker, but you can spot it on the first date. I'm listing non-obvious or concealed traits.

But even that one guy had a hard time finding an SO, and most of the women in my extended group have been in stable relationships at least since high school or uni. One of my weirder friends got so tired of the current paradigm that he straight up just went and got a wife in Cambodia. She's a little older than him but extremely cute! Couple guys were regular, one didn’t like me, one I had nothing in common with. The others were truly terrible, rude, expected to get laid straight away or had chaotic lives and made no effort. Met someone through a hobby and became a companionship for last 4 years, I wanted more and he doesn’t so that’s that. I get hit on ALL THE TIME by very young guys (20s, I’m in my 40s) but I think most people my age have just checked out or set in their ways/like the peace and freedom. I know I do and find it hard to picture being in a relationship with anyone now. I have people to hang out with and good family/neighbours/pets so I’m not too fussed.

    @@JCDenton3 I see this as a common trope among men. They put their entire 'worth' in capital assets and/or cash, it's all about stuff, whilst women are more about things. And it completely fails to capture the female gaze. Naïve girls in their 20's might fall for the 'self made 1 million £ dude bro' but ask women at 30+, especially at 35+ and that's not what we want, at all. We want competency, well-adjusted, kind, uncontrolling, mature, emotionally intelligent, supportive, and autonomous men, an actual adult. That's it. Sure, making us laugh helps too, but none of the things I mentioned require capital wealth. Do we want men to have their shxt together with a stable income and autonomy? Of course we do, but that's nothing that we don't demand of ourselves either. We're looking for partners, not to be someone's replacement mother and maid. The issue that men that pursue the immature and naïve (but inherently and generally more attractive) young women, will bump into is that these young women tend to be more interested in financially successful blokes, because these girls are just that, girls, with little financial capability and independence, they're still young and haven't developed careers or businesses. But as women mature and gain our own financial independence (30+) we're discarded as too old or with too many (healthy) boundaries. Mature men need to look for mature women, not girls, and put less emphasis on their financial ability and more on their emotional and supportive abilities. I'm not attempting to start some internet argument here, there's no internet troll anger in what I wrote, I'm just saying, as a woman, what women (mature women) want, and it's not the "£5M net worth". I've dumped a guy making £120k GBP p/a because, honestly, he was an ass...

    Nothing beats the authenticity by meeting a potential mate organically. Everybody shows what they feel is their best self on some dumb dating profile. You cannot hide what you truly are when you're out in public. If you're a good, honest, genuine person, it'll show. If you're the opposite, that too will show and people will stay away from you, or outright ghost you.

    If you were dating in person, you’d also get rejected, not because you’re disposable to them, but because a stranger didn’t see you as a romantic partner. This happens to virtually everyone at some point in their life and dealing with it is something most of us need to learn. Men are not disposable to women, and vice versa. Dating apps tend to have more men than women on them and aside from that, they do bring up the worst in both genders and play off toxic dynamics and social engineering to generate revenue. We need not let poorly designed software turn us against each other, or it’s over.

    Ok, I’m to going to add my $0.02 to everyone else’s $0.02. Online dating? Burn it down! We want it gone! If you’re in the top 20% looks wise it’s great but that has always been true. If you’re in the bottom 80% of men it’s hell. Literally hell. It’s a depression machine. I tell young men, listen to your family and stay close to them. Encourage them to stay in the same community. Take lower paying jobs to be close to their mother/father, aunts/uncles, and especially siblings. Pour your energy into your nephew and nieces even if you have children of your own. If you don’t have children redouble that energy. Love your family. If society has failed to give you a wife give that love to a sister or brother or nephew or niece. They will repay you when you are old and fragile. Above all, remember, family is everything!

    Online dating focuses on vanity metrics and good looks. 1) People are much more nuanced than just a check list (height, music preference? etc..) 2) The majority of men don't pull girls by being being pretty (although it helps). Things like social standing, competence and charisma are much more important for a man in order to attract a mate. Dating apps only give you a short dopamine hit and none of the substance.

If there was an app that required users to actually interact with matches in real life within a specified time to maintain an active profile I think you’d sort out the people who are really looking to meet people from the farmers.

    I tried online dating many, many times and noticed a limiting factor: after a while, you see the same faces. The dating geographic pool, i.e. mates with your preferences in your area, is less than one hundred. After a few weeks, you run out of people who you would want to meet and new people do not join that often, so you lose interest and leave.

    Anyone familiar with how dating apps work know creating actual relationships up is secondary to making money. Women are evolutionarily supposed to be picky and the apps use this to keep women engaged by primarily showing them "pick of the litter" men. Less than 15% of the male Tinder userbase gets over 50% of the female attention. For men they bias it so that the only way to have any chance is to be in this sub 15% "alpha" category or pay for Tinder to push then. A lot of guys try to overcome this by being super aggressive. Being a socially awkward "runt of the litter" kind of guy who finds paying people to get pushed on women is a special kind of hell...

  • @langhamp8912

    @langhamp8912

    I believe the 15% is now quite accurate. I think it's less than 3% of males get over half of messages. By any measure the free market dating pool is a winner take all situation. I personally don't have any problems with this; after all, it's just adults making their own decisions and others looking to monetize it. I would hope, though, that prostitution would eventually be legal in the US as that would balance out the free market of average men looking for sex.

  • @LAG09

    @LAG09

    @@langhamp8912 Its not a "feeling", its what researchers who actually got to look at the data found. The way I see it women have always been as picky as they can given circumstances. Now those circumstances let them be as picky as they want and its basically just a competition for the top males. Those top males know it and take full advantage to treat women abominably because they know there's a figurative line for them. Ultimately the only ones happy are the small fraction of women able to secure sole access to those top males and the top males themselves. Less desirable males will just not get to have families or kids while the majority of women end up alone, childless or single mothers by their own choices. Not a positive development, fewer children and more single parent families, but that's hypergamy in action for you.

    Back in 2007 when I was in my mid 20's I started online dating. I'm a better than average looking guy that usually met my girlfriends through social circles. Trying online was pretty rough at that time for my age group. If seemed like others my age were paired up through friends and or school. After a few years it got easier and I got more consistent results. Probably because people around 30 have exhausted their normal options and then turn to online. I also found that the paid sites like Match where more likely to make meeting someone a priority since they were paying.
